Beautiful! And Weld-On #16 is great! I use that in Weld-On #3 for acrylics - nothing better!

Show em some more pix Paul..
No problem :cool

Today I added the top and bottom exterior panels to the rear of the ship (the design of the cutouts in these panels may be subject to change as Simon has suggested that they may become cast items instead of acrylic to aid in easier assembly...).

Very happy with the progress of the prototype so far.

The beauty of creating everything in a 3D model is you know that everything will fit. Virtually no modification has been required to any of the cut acrylic parts :thumbsup

So it's been brought to my attention that with laser cutting you get a Bevelled edge on the piece. Anyone see this as a problem with fitting the pieces? Obviously we want it as square as possible so maybe CNC would be a better way as Paul has done. Could be cheaper too. I haven't really built a model with laser cut pieces before so any input would be good.

Having my own laser cutter it all depends on how the parts are cut. it can be beveled but with the right settings its all good. the faster the cuts are made the more that can happen. its all in the settings.

Well while Paul is taking this project to 11, here's my 0.1 piece so far :)

It's a mix of the real miniature and Martins replica so far. I'm going to pick the best of all worlds for the final and in places offer options/alternatives (like I've done with the nose art) I know there's errors and much to do.

Does anyone know what the (up arrow)61477 decal is from? I know I've seen it.

Well you did ..... Lee and I both forgot. So without you we'd both be running around with our head up our arses looking for something I already posted about 5 pages back.

IDing something and then completely forgetting it is a time honored tradition. So is asking for clarification on something, and getting your ass handed to you :)

And I of course was looking right at it when I did the 'A2' decal!
I 'KNEW' I'd seen it :)

Thanks.
