mythical creature costume ideas

Every year my parents have a halloween costume competiton/party. 2018 the theme is mythical creatures, and as i do special effects makeup i have been tasked with actually getting them to win the competition this year. my mother has decided to be a unicorn which is simple enough, but my dad wants something different, and we are stuck with what to come up with so any ideas?

the list we have rejected is
dragons
elves
goblins
centaurs
anything too scary for kids

please help with ideas

I'd do the half man, half horse, I forget what its called. Not a minotaur, but the one(s) from Narnia.

That's a Centaur, he's already crossed it off the list.

Try and Anthro-Centaur. It has the front half of a Centaur and the back half of a man.
