My TIE Pilot WIP

Been perusing the forum for a while now and I wanted to share my TIE Fighter Pilot WIP. The helmet is DA, flightsuit is Cosplaysky, boots are German Jacks, gloves are Toughglove Enforcers, belt assembled from Tandy parts, Imperial Code Cylinders are converted chalk holders and balaclava. I'm currently waiting on MC for the chestbox, armor and Elvis greeblies. Compad incoming from a fellow JRS member. The Doopys E-11 was just for effect. I'll be building a DL-44 with the Denix group buy and looking for a matching holster. Will also be adding a Stormtrooper neck seal as well.

I'm liking it! Such a iconic and simple SW universe costume. Did you end up doing the chalk holder conversion yourself?

Thanks. The simplicity is part of why I chose it. Plus I just realized there are a couple of others that I could use the base uniform for like the Imperial Gunner which I just happen to have (helmet). Yeah, I did the chalk holder conversion myself. All it consisted of was to remove the spring, paint the end with base and anodized blue. Then put it back together without the spring in a lower position and hot glue it.

Just added the second to last detail for the belt. The 1/2" round stud.

Here is the neck seal.

And here is the base for the DL-44. A Denix Mauser Broomhandle with wood grips courtesy of Bobadebt.

Looking really good! And an excellent choice (says this former TI). Are you going to be brave and add the third hose? AFAIK, the hose is still a bit of a controversy over at JRS... them old timers don't seem to like it, even though it's movie-accurate (won't call it screen-accurate as it's barely seen on screen...)

The Targ electronic compads are great! Cannot see if your helmet has a rubber trim, but if it doesn't, go with Targ once more - the same with hoses.

The helmet is complete except for the ear greeblies. The hoses are coming from MC among with the chestbox and armor.

Not sure what hoses and neck trim MC uses (I own DL TIE) but Targ ones are the best.

Thanks for sharing your build with us. I myself am wanting to do the Tie Pilot suit, and you have given me inspiration, which is what this forum is all about. I'll be doing a pep build for the helmet though and possible for everything else.
Anyway, good on you. :thumbsup

Thanks, I've yet to get into the pep building myself. I'm new building but old school in that I like to build kits and modify stuff. I can't wait to get my chestbox and armor.

Update.

Replaced the inaccurate patches

with correct vinyl cogs.

Added elastic stirrups to keep pants tucked.

Corrected hip and lower pockets. Lower pockets are no longer at or below the knees.

Replaced the cheap silver zipper with a better all black one.

Adjusted compad window size.
