Accurate Tie Pilot Chestbox build

After searching for a accurate Tie Pilot chestbox with no luck, I worked with Intergalactic Supply on this one. This is a prototype, but the project is coming along well!

No currently produced boxes incorporate the ribs. The Anovos is missing one, and the early RS box ribs are too pronounced.

I decided to do this box on the style of the Power of the Costume touring box.

I used transparent white acrylic for the Squares, and tried to duplicate the glue showing through on the original. The glue showing through is what gives many the false impression that grey tiles were used.

unfortunately, The true found part for the gear has never been found. Unable to find any accurate replicas, I had some made .

Box assembly is straight forward. I made sure to mount the hose/cog platforms from inside as originals.

Here is the finished box. (I have a full build log on my Instagram @ti4300 ) I did some light weathering to match the original.

This was a fun build. The box is still being tweaked a bit (moving bottom greeblie shelf, using .060 for sharpness. This one is .090)
I’m getting ready to do another..I think this one will be the Magic of Myth style...sloppily painted red tile and all!

Do you think the Intergalactic Supply chest box is the most accurate available today ?

Most accurate box is the old Anovos. It’s the only one with any lineage to a real chestbox.

Pilot Bay has been working on something interesting..may be worth shooting them a message

All the others are fan sculpt, however the RS does use the correct thickness plastic so that’s probably second in accuracy

In the first movie (Star Wars, A new hope) there was a grey tube coming from the left side of the chest box to the rear of the suit.
You can see this tube in the few shots of the Tie pilots at the end of the movie (they are following Vader).
For some reason, this tube has been removed on the suit that is on display in the exhibitions...
