Looking at your helm, it looks like the done is really far forward compared to the faceplate. Maybe some more shots of the helmet and it's connections would be in order.
Alberto,
Head over to the FISD www.whitearmor.net This is the 501st Legion detachment for stormtroopers and there is a ton of specific knowledge regarding building your FX suit. The community there is always open and helpful to help you get your suit built and most people who chip in have build 1 or more suits so know the ins and outs and things that will get cha.
Thank for the advice, I registered today, but was lurking for about 3-4 month, went through Youtube tutorials, got zap-a gap E 600 and all of what I needed. I hope to do a good job, I have small scale airplane and Anime robot kit building background, thi is such a big scale that with a dremel and the right tools at hand houldn't be such a mess to start....hope so:lol And the FX is pre-trimmed too.
I want to measure very accurately before making big mistakes, since I want to risk with zap a gap and accelerant!
Let's try, FX is pretty cheap so at least if I'll mess too much I'll have an excuse to buy a RS prop:facepalm and be waay mooore screen accurate!!:lol
Regards,
Alberto
If it's my 2 cents, get a TM kit (Troopermaster) his kit comes together much nicer and IMO looks better and closer to the screen used items. The problem with RS is that the pieces are mix-match from cast from different screen used parts from different movies, and some fan made sculpts (incidentally, Troopermaster made some of those parts for RS). I believe the torso is ROTJ, reworked to be ANH?
Don't get me wrong, RS is a great suit and far and away one of the top 2 kit producers out there.
My first build as an RS as well. It was a good time, and yes, the suit comes together really easily since it's all precut. If you're going for accuracy, there are some problems with the pieces like usually the cod is cut and some material removed, which was hard for me since I am very tall, so I had to find a way around that and the ends of the belt were trimmed to short so I had to get a new belt. Not to mention the helmet of the FX is HUGE!, it makes for a big bobble head. I replaced this as well. I wanted to get approval with this suit so made all the changes based on the TK CRL to get approval, so it is possible with a FX, and not to hard.
That is factually wrong: RS is cast off an original ANH suit - including the torso. The only parts that are added are the shoulder bridges, the abdomen button details and the TK kneeplate (which actually are TM parts, given to RS with permission to supply them with their kits) and the left arm, which is a new sculpt, as the original suit came with two right arms.
Everything else is 100% ANH, cast from original - no ROTJ here.
My 2 cents: If you look for an idealised representation of an ANH Trooper, go for TM. If you want "warts and all" screen-accuracy, RS is the way to go. Quality-wise they are both on par.

Edit:
I can vouch for this, as I actually _wore_ said original suit:
If it's my 2 cents, get a TM kit (Troopermaster) his kit comes together much nicer and IMO looks better and just as close to the screen used items. The problem with RS is that the pieces are just like the screen used items, a bit extra wonky when building, and don't always seem to fit together until they are together! Once it's together it's just like off the screen though.

W.O.H.A.!!!!! DID YA!!!!???:thumbsup
Great, probably I would never forget such an event for my entire life!!!!!!
Great Honour!!
Congrat Dan!!
So I guess you troop!

Alberto
I do troop, yeah. TK 8527 at your service![]()
I would NEVER troop in that original though. As much as it was an absolute honour to put it all on, it was just as nerve wrecking as well. I barely allowed myself to move in it, since I didn't want to damage it... still I couldn't resist the urge to strike some poses with the Sterling lying around in that studio:
enough of that thread hi-jacking though. At 1,75cm tall, you'd be a good height for an accurate suit!
As far as going Centurion, I think it is possible and has been done, it's just not likely with a FX without a lot of modifications. EIB is easier though, obviously. As for legion acceptance, the FX suit as it is is still approveable I believe.
LOL of course not in THAT suit,! I guess You have a very accurate one casted from that one tough....:thumbsup
Strike some pics!! Since its for reference the host would be absolutely glad to see how it is assembled!:angel
I do sport RS armour, that is right, yeah. So you want pics of my set? I don't think I have pics of the individual pieces showing how they are put together... I could take some of the sets that I'm currently building over the weekend though.
In the meantime, here's one of me and my buddy ObiHahn, both wearing our RS suits. I'm the one in the front... (I know it's not much of a reference shot, still thought I'd share it)
