A true Sherlock Holmes fan will recognize a lot of things, like the portraits of Edgar Allan Poe and Henry Ward Beecher, the final note from Sherlock Holmes (under his sigarcase), the notes from the Hound of the Baskervilles and the Valley of Fear. The Deerstalker, Violin and all the classic elements are there. I think it is a bit too much to name all the paper props I made.

I am still working on it, as you can see. The Notice Board above the desk is going to be filled with papers - newspaperarticles etc. Also I still have to recieve my Brashaw guides and a strand magazine.

Please let me know what you think of it.

Very well made. Congratulations :)

It would be great to have a similar collection.

And I also like very much the paper props.

I especially like the Aladdin's lamp on your shelf. What books are up there?

By the by, there was never any mention of a picture of Poe -- they had up a portrait of General Gordon, and an unframed photo of Beecher.

You are right about that, the portrait isn't mentioned in the canon, but a lot of screen adaptations of Sherlock Holmes have the portrait, so does the Sherlock Holmes museum.

Really? I've never spotted one in any adaptation. Last I recall the museum only had Gordon's picture over the chemistry set. Where do they hang Poe?

It hangs among other portraits in the bedroom, if I am not mistaken (to be fair, I am begining to have some doubts now...) It is also in the tv-series Sherlock.

I think it's all criminals on the wall in the museum bedroom. It is in Sherlock's bedroom in "Sherlock" though, yes. This one:

yes, that's the one I have.

By the way, some new props are made:
- Irene Adler photograph
- drawing of the tower from 'A Game of Shadows'
- Embalming Fluid from 'A Game of Shadows'
- Midget pictures from 'Sherlock Holmes (2009)"

I am working on the sound supressor and gun from 'Sherlock Holmes (2009)'

very nice collection you have. just two things look out of place, the shelves look too modern and the notice board.

i believe old style notice boards were covered in a dark green felt and the frame was usually varnished a dark brown. if you could darken the shelves to the same colour as the desk you have i think it would be more in keeping with the time period.

but this is just my opinion. feel free to ingnore me as it is your collection.

thank you breen,

I am still working on this, the notice board isn't ready yet, I am planning to make something similar to this of it:

(though a bit smaller ;) )

Your idea of painting the shelves is a good one, In the future I might do that. You are right, that will make it look a lot more realistic.
