My pred suit --WIP--

OK, I have finally started my pred suit build up. I am hoping to be able to wear it to Wizard World Chicago '08'. I don't know what direction I want to go, but I have seen some of the Samurai ideas and think they are sick (especially the sword, I love swords). I had thought about a Viking style theme, but it could be bulky with the the armor done right.

Anyways, I have started the gauntlets and used soccer shin-guards as a base, craft organizers as the housing units, and foamies with the adhesive backs. They fit your forearm really well and only took a half hour to assemble. I still have to add the details and replace the Franklin brand strap with an idea I have swirling around in my head........This is my first suit and would appreciate any advice and suggestions to help me along the way. Thanks, jaded

It's Sunday night and I have didn't get as much done as I wanted, but I managed to cut and bend my shoulder armor pieces and make my blades. I used 5 gallon buckets and it was easier than I thought. I didn't have a heat-gun so I held them over the stove burners I cut the blades out of the bottom of the bucket, too. I am going to use the same method for the thigh armor as well. Here's the pics:

The blades aren't set yet, so they look crooked

Hey guys and girls, I haven't posted any pics lately, but thought I would let ya'll know that I sent the payment to Ruffkintoy for one of his awesome masks and I also ordered the Mr. Incredible suit earlier today. I'm gonna get the latex as soon as possible (this week or next) and get started with the suit. I have started my gauntlets and they will stay the same, but I am pretty sure I am going to change my armor media from pvc to foamies (just less time consuming to use). I got an idea for my armor that is different, but at the same time very predator (in my own opinion). I am gonna draw it up and show what you guys and girls what I am thinking. I am very much determined to have this done (maybe not completely finished, but at least respectable) by Wizard World Chicago in June. Not only am I excited to just get this thing going, but I really like a good challenge.

Some new pics of my gauntlets. I gutted the inside of the bladed one so I will have a little storage space since I won't have any pockets :) Comments are appreciated

Hey nice job! Good idea about the storage!

Thursday night and I have finished the outside of my bomb gauntlet. Foamies and some plastic automotive wire conduit that I cut in half. I think it looks silly, but it doesn't have any paint so, yeah it is silly lookin ;) The blade gauntlet will go faster because all of the brainstorming is done, just apply. Comments are appreciated, thanks!

**sorry the pics keep looking blurry, I can't seem to fix it

I can officially say that I have my blood and sweat into this build. Not 10 minutes after I posted the last post, I cut into my left hand with my Leatherman tool. Went and got 7 stitches, gonna make a great scar.

gonna make a great scar.
...from the AVP movie? hee hee I would have expected other members to be quicker to play on words with this...

Seriously, I hope it doesn't happen again, hand injuries can sometimes be permanently disabling, we wouldn't like to see you lose use of some of your talented fingers

Thanks for the compliments......The injury didn't turn out that bad after it was sewn up. I did cut the muscle and some tissue, but missed the tendon. The only thing that sucks is I got out of the hospital at 3:30am and left for work at 6am..I am exhausted. On to better news, I had the surprise of my Mr. Incredible suit on my doorstep when I got home . Things are moving along!

-I will post a pic of the injury sometime today ;)
