Hey guys. So I've been working on this for a week now, and I have 4 days left to complete it. I'm only 15, fairly new to prop making, and I've been rushing through it, so take that to mind. Any constructive criticism, advice, questions and/or positive comments would be greatly appreciated. So here we go!
This is my main barrel. I'm waiting for my dremel, which my dad should bring home today, to sand down some pieces so I can add on the oval vent thingy mabob. The first two rings were built up by a couple layers of tape, and the second ring is covered with a cardboard tube I had. The 3rd larger ring is carved out of some foam I had lying around.

This is my front handhold. Made out of plaster strips. I used an old seltzer bottle with layers of tinfoil to make the base for it.

This is the large top white piece. The outside is 2 layers of paper mache, then a layer of tinfoil, followed by a few layers of plaster strips. The plaster was an afterthought, and because I thought it would warp the paper-mache, I kept the tinfoil layer that I used to separate the piece from it's base. The base for this one was a child's bike helmet. It was the streamlined style, not the regular curved one.

This afternoon I sorted out how I'm going to do the lighting. I bought two flashlight/glowsticks/whistle things from my local Target. One was blue, one was red/orange. I took off the casing and the plastic tube to leave just the battery, circuit board, and LED assembly. Then I took an old baby formula graduated cylinder from my basement, and wrapped 2-3 layers of clear scotch tape around the whole thing. This was to carry and diffuse the light. As soon as I get my hot glue going, I'll glue the two lights into place giving me a nice orange and blue portal effect.

And that's all I have for now. My dad just walked in with my dremel, so hopefully I will have some updates for you later tonight. Unfortunatly, because this build is so last minute, it's not going to look the way I want, but it'll be enough to impress my friends. I think I will do a rebuild sometime in the future. So guys, what do you think?
