With the latest season of the show, I decided to take a shot at building a working Rick and Morty Portal Gun. Couldn't source any Portal Fluid so at least I have all the lights, sound working. I'll trade some death crystals for a few ounces of fluid. I used two ESP32 microcontrollers communicating over Bluetooth for this project. One controller handles the display/interface and the other handles all the lighting and sound. Details provided in the photos below. All software was written in Arduino C++. I took some liberties with the design but I think it turned out pretty good in the end. It took about a month to figure out how to fit it into a very small package.
