Triffid Gun & Stinger Build, BBC 1981 Day of The Triffids

Back in 2019 I was able to take detailed pics of the original Triffid gun prop from the 1981 BBC adaption of Day Of The Triffids. I've always liked this prop and finally got around to building my own replica, along with a Trif stinger. Base gun is a Crosman 1377 air pistol with added shoulder stock.

That is a serious build! I love the Odd and RARE for my collection. Great Classic Sci Fi Movie - but a brilliant find and preservation of a classic prop.

The movie bears little resemblance to John Wyndham's novel. The 1981 adaption sticks pretty closely to the book.

It's a little dated in production values, and pace in the first episode, but generally holds up very well. Big influence on 28 Days Later.
