My Legend of Zelda Link costume

That's some incredible craftsmanship, especially the boots and the gauntlets. Great job!

Good to see you on here too!

I can't quite tell from the pictures of the new red hat but be sure to keep it from doing that sag straight down the back of your head like the green hat does, I see that alot in Link costumes and it always bothers me

Thanks for the link to the boot tutorial!

You're welcome. I swear by that tutorial. I've made 3 pairs of boots/shoes from that so far.

That red hat actually is my Magic Armor hat (like in my icon) I did manage to perfect the "puff" in it. So yes I will be doing that again when I make my new costume. Here's a pic of that hat.

EDIT: Thought I'd upload some pictures of the sheath, it never gets the attention that it deserves being on your back and all. This was also part of the set that came from fiberglassblades.com. I added the tassles, wrappings, and leather belts to it.

and here's the other boot to make a pair, since they seem to be such a hit ^_^. Overall I'm not as happy with this boot and due to the minimal amount of leather I had to work with this one is a bit tighter on me but they're made well so they can withstand it when I have to rank em off my feet.

Let me know what you think. I tried adding some burn marks and singes to the costume in various places but it was kinda rushed so I'd like to make those look better in the future.

Wow dude, That is freaking sweet.

All I can say is nicely done.

Did you do the chain mail yourself? I was working on a hauberk (shirt made of mail) I need to get back on that project, I just haven't had time.

again, looks great. :thumbsup

Out of curiosity, to draw the sword from back sheath you have to have the sheath not flush to the back, it pivots on your shoulder so that you can actually get the sword out, correct?

Cool.
well, let me know if I can help with any other mail pieces you might need. :)

cool, thank you very much for the offer. My girlfriend just finished this costume here, Sheik from super smash bros brawl and she needs some blue chainmail pieces.

you can see the chaimail under her arms and around her elbows.

Here's her costume.

I cant draw it from my back actually. I've only met one Link costumer who can and she was short and her sword was scaled down a bit. I'm sure it's possible some how but definitely not the way he does it in the game. I usually have someone help me put it away and take it out.

A blue like this:

or that turquoise?

Let me know what size (L x W) and I'll figure out how many rings will be needed.
Im thinking two cylindrical pieces for the elbows and either two rectangle pieces for the sides or one long rectangle that could be tied in the front under the banner. If it visible from the back I think that would be the way to go.

Do you have an idea on ring size?

Let me know, Im happy to help. :)

Awesome work dude.
Your boots turned out AWESOME. as well the new gauntlets and tunic.

Your girlfriends sheik is superb too! Best Shiek I've seen yet (the realism of Brawl is conducive to real life no?) lol.
KEEP IT UP
