Hello everyone I'm new to these boards, but have been on other costuming boards for awhile now (thedentedhelmet, cosplay.com). I thought I'd start this thread to show you all the Link costume that I'm working on from the 1998 video game Zelda Ocarina of Time. I've done this costume before but I'm revamping everything on it Here is a picture of the costume.

I'm doing the bottom color scheme which is the fire tunic, so I plan on weathering it to make it look singed.

Here's what I have so far.

Props (not made by me these were made by Aaron Grofonsky of fiberglassblades.com)

The dark props are my friend's set who does the dark link costume to match mine.

Ok so thats what I've been working on lately here's a picture of the original costume that I"m remaking. So some of the stuff on it I'm still using like the baldric and undertunic.

So hope you all like it.

Very cool. Welcome to the boards!

Great work on the boots. Good idea to re-use the undertunic. (So little of it is seen, why re-make it?) What type of material are you going to use for the new tunic? I'd recommend a heavier fabric with more texture. Perhaps a darker green ... but that's just a personal choice.

Can't wait to see how this progresses. :thumbsup

Yeah, I'm actually going to do the red version this time. I chose a heavy wool for it. But yeah the tunic was one of the main reasons I wanted to remake it. I've improved my sewing skills a lot since that picture.

Right, right, the red version. I must have a really short memory. :lol
Post some pics of the fabric if you can!

Glad to see you here as well Force! (George Duel on Cosplay.com here;))

Yeah didnt think of that, I'll have to do that when I get back to my apartment (
at my parents house for a few days). I will have the tunic made pretty soon too. I plan on having this done by the end of the month for a convention.

Glad to see you here as well Force! (George Duel on Cosplay.com here;))

it looks pretty good i like the boots a lot..

Thank you, I think those are my favorite part next to the sword and shield. Oh by the way I LOVE your master chief costume. I saw it over at TDH great work!

Good to see you here too Echo. Just out of curiosity do you still sell the resin castings for Assassin's Creed? I have people ask me where I got mine all the time.

I still have the molds, but I haven't been actively pursuing the sales of them.

But I certainly can if need be. :)

Ok I'll keep that in mind if I get people asking. Most people arent serious buyers though. I'm sure you get that a lot too.

heh, I was going to say the boots are my favorite part about the outfit. I've been pretty tempted to make this outfit myself. Did you gather more pics or write down what you did for that?

yeah sorry, for the boots, do you have any more shots or a description of how you modified your boots?

unfortunately that was the only before picture I took. As you can see in it though they're just work boots. What I did was pull the leather over the toe and then wrap some around the back trimming the edges off near the sole. For the top part I just made a leg warmer looking kind of thing sewn down the back. I folded the bottoms and glued them to make it look like it was sagging and then put spots of contact cement on the places where I wanted to have folds and basically fought with the leather until it glued into the look I wanted. This is the tutorial I used from sithcamero,

Great work on that costume. I always loved the Zeldagames, and your costume rocks! :thumbsup

Thank you ^_^. Just an update I'm working on the tunic right now so I should have some more pics up soon hopefully. Out of curiousity, since collars have always given me trouble, does anyone have a good link to a collar pattern or something? I managed to get it looking ok on my last tunic but I'd like to make it better if possible. Thanks.
