Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

All you fellows here are doing an awesome job on your WM builds! I wish I had the room to make one of my own!

Thank you Darph, looks like we are starting a WM group here hahahaha; I haven't post any progress yet since I have been interviewing for a new job and my brain right now is overloaded, but hopefully I will have something good this weekend.

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Hey good luck with the interview, fingers crossed!

Yeah, I don't have room for the full size suits, so I have to make do with the scale model kits, Here's my MK III, I'm just waiting for the War Machine to come out!

Man that is sweet Darph! Would it be asking too much to ask you to PM me a bunch of close ups of the joints, ankles, neck ect! I would be in you debt Darph! I have some detail questions with the MK3 build! I hope you build a War Machine. it isnt that much space needed until you glass.maybe a friend with a garage can let you use some space! Not too many folks wouldnt host at least part of one of these builds!

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Lol, I actually have "sorta" enough space, but I promised my wife I wouldn't because she'd scare the crap out of herself every time she would walk into the room housing the armor! She puts up with a lot of my modelling shenanigans as it is and I love her for it! ;)

Here's my complete build thread for my Moebius Iron Man, I'd have to say the most impressive part of this is that I did the whole build while on a 4.5 month deployment at sea! (did it in 2- 2.5 months)

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Well I will be posting some ideas I was gathering as I was fighting a freaking malware on my computer, I got it on a response for a job posting and a screen came in on my computer saying that the FBI took control o my computer and I need it to pay $200 using a service at walmart or some other merchants. Almost have to delete pretty much my whole profile but figured it out and for the past 3 hours my computer has been running a anti-virus checking all the files I have, I got rid of it but boy i I'm tired....

Stop it man, making me blush!!! hahahahhaha, I just got tired of people shooting me down when I have a question, plus the group we got going on here is the best people ever, polite, don't mind responding your questions, show their work, you know, what this site should be like, not like others that put you down with their arrogance because they have better files and can do better than us...I love props, just never had the medium to learn more in depth the art, cause believe or not this is art..

And I'm in for the longest, I have met amazing people here, Michael, Juan Jowe, Salvador (AKA Zabana) hopefully our group can show others that we can all get along well....

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Here here, my friend! The builds are hard enough without secrets. I fully intend to put up all I can so that others can benefit. We do have a great group here! Love to know I have partners in Armor out here.

Darph, Thank you for serving our country, alot of folks may give you attitude, but you wont find it here, you guys and ladies are my true heroes! :$ Glad you made it home safe.
BTW love that Iron Man it model is amazing how much detail you got in something so small! You undoubtably will do astounding work when you go full scale!
I have to laugh about you saying your wife might get startled, I bought a mannequin to put my armour on and not only did my wife not get startled I scared the $%^& out of myself a couple of times instead LOL!
Fooled both of us..:unsure

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

So I got to work doing the shoulders today since I didn't have enough daylight to work on the fiber glassing due to meetings, also trying to fix this pos of computer. I have a few tips when gluing the parts:

first start putting together the ridges on the side of the shoulder bell it makes the gluing super easier, here is what I mean:

Also I left these three parts to be able to harden them and do the bondo easely.

I know look simple but just wanted to make it easier for all of us....

Man they went together fast! That is exciting as I am almost finished with my torso and could use a couple of fast simple pieces for a working vacation!

Side note:
I have seen a lot of people cutting the fiber glass cloth 2x3 inches, I thing is better long strips of 3x7 inches, it made the job so easy and it is less cleaning no tips poking at you....

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)working on torso until complete

Wow! That looks so clean! Nice glass work! :) You are much further ahead of me than I thought, but that is good! It inspires me to work harder!!
It was awesome to talk to you in person this evening! Man are we birds of a feather or what! I have a brother by another mother!!:lol
