My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY) New Model done! a new construction starts!!!

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

So here is another update, so since my last failure with my build I decided to look for the best place to separate the back and chest, so here is where I think is the best place to cut it cause you can put some good magnets and I think will look good and work well!!!

More updates coming this afternoon, I'm tinkering with the abs and see how I can tackle that...

Great work on your armor. How do you compensate when you increase the scale on a piece and it overlaps a single sheet of paper. Sounds like a silly question but I would like to know whats the scaling you used on your entire build. I'm 5' 8". Your help is greatly appreciated.

I use the join/disjoin function on the 2d menu, then edit mode. Or simply right click on your mouse over the 2d screen and all the options come out on a little popup window, play around with it so you adjust them, be careful not to overlap them or combine pieces that are going to be hard to pep...That's how I made less parts and less gluing, I combined some parts together...

I think my upper torso is a little big what you think?

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Its big. You wont be able to turn your head left or right. Looks good though on your pepping skills.

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Awww man..I thought it was...I guess I'll make a smaller one..I notice on the movie he doesn't have much room to turn...I bought the movie and pause some scenes and he can only move his neck like at a45degree angle..but still mine does look huge compared to some pictures I have..I dont mind if its a little bigger but not that big..lol..well I will use a smaller scale I used 1.69 should I scale it down 10% ?or more? Is ten a lot?..sorry for all my questions...just not sure

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

I looks close to correct for me...in my opinion,
don't forget your neck is going to bring the helmet up to a slightly higher position, the helmet doesn't sit right on the armour and if you make it smaller (it makes it smaller in every dimension) you will have even less room to turn your head right and left... unless it is hanging off of your shoulders so the armour wont stay up it is probably fine, if you measured... Mine looks a triffle big sitting on the bench, but I measured and trying to put a neck seal and helmet in a smaller hole won't work, in my opinion! I put a test neck seal on and the chest piece for a look and this is what I got.

Remember too, it probably wont sit right on the shoulders either, I bought some football shoulder pads (very sleek and low)(probably a wide recievers style, to support the armor and give me something to attach those huge shoulder bells too, so that will raise the armor to a perfect position...In my estimations. :confused
That chest piece is a ton of work, i'd rather see you waste a small amount of resin, cut it apart then test fit it before I just started over!..If you look at the movie pics the shoulders do sit pretty high ,(this is not a movie pick but a very accurate reproduction...the movie pics are pretty dark and hard to see.:$

Looks like about 1/3 of the helmet is below shoulder rocket lauchers...

You have good Kung Foo Don Juan! Nice peps and a beautiful helmet!!
Great stuff!

That looks spot on man! by the way that project we talked about is on and it's way...but do not throw anything away since we can still use it....

That's weird I scale mine to that size and it its perfect well if you see the movie the head is right near the shoulders, it gives the suit a bulkier look to it....

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Here is what I mean Juan;
See how the head is in relation to the shoulders, so your looks as close as the picture, these are the life size bust:

Remember once you put the neck it will come up a little bit then it would be exactly like the picture...

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

The here is who I'm reinforcing the edges, later after I fiber-glass the chest and back, I'm adding some foam strips as padding so the edges do not bother me:

Here is what I'm using as hardware to attach the chest and back:

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Oooh that is very clever! I cant wait to see how it works and where you mount the magnets!

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Now, I know the question is, Do the magnets will hold?, the answer is yes I'm adding 12 19.1 mm x 19.1 mm square magnets with a pull force of 9.05 lbs each= 108.0 lbs, plus some 8 rounds 9.5mm x 6.4mm with a pull force of 8.02 lbs = 64.16 lbs so I think we are ok there, just need somebody to help

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

The magnets are going this way:

the Square ones:
One on each L-shape corner braces; which I forgot to add the pictures of the lower side of the chest and back there will be two of these braces each side.

On the L-shape shelve holders, which I'm using as keys to position the back and chest correctly, I'm adding one of the round magnets, buy they are strong and they are cheap to buy a pack of 12 of them was $12.99, for the squares were 6 for $ 13.99... and the other stuff was like $6.00 all together at home depot...

Here is the site or the magnets, they ship supper quick:

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Starting to look good..my concern want the neck it was that the edge of my torso is like almost at the end of my shoulders..like an inch in..it starting to comet along though

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Once you remove the center where the neck goes, if you do it like I did it will look fine, I will take a picture so you can see what I mean....
