My Full Size ESB Darth Vader

Well, it's still a work in progress in sofar as i'd like to replace the Superhero boots with something more appropriate, anyhoo...It's a modded manneqin from germany, ...( i have pics of how he used to be...quite skinny and narrow, not a very Vader look......)Don Post Deluxe helmet, don't know the chest armor maker,
but it's pretty good, Korbanth belt boxes....modded leather belt,
better belt buckle, Custom Props 2 piece suit, inner robe, cape, cod and gloves,
mr gutted fx saber hilt, correct esb micro switches, which i carved!.....
the boots are those leather-ette superhero boots with 1 inch extra soles and heels, the shins are Rubies, BUT, i removed the godawful lycra/zip afair and made genuine leather straps which velcro together......
also made the brackets that hold the straps on......

since i took the pic of the manny, i bulked him out a bit more on the legs, arse and back...also his left wrist.....

Looks great! Perfect pose also. The cod piece looks a little new made, other than that it screams ESB. :thumbsup

The pics without the suit on makes me smile for some reason. Guess its the serious face on him.

looking great!

How did you do the poseable hands and how did you get the arms not to sit "flush" against the mannequins body (as they usually do, making it hard to bulk it up and STILL being able to attach the arms)?

Thanks for some insight

Markus

Thanks!
I took the mannequins arms off....drilled a hole right through the body and stuck a metal pole through to remount the arms onto. I made sure the arms were spaced about 3 inches further apart than originally.....i chopped up the clenched fist arm which was just straight to start with.....

i remounted the arms using angle brackets, screws and fitted a couple of those wardrobe pole-holders to the armsfor the new pole to slide into.....

The hands...well, i just chopped all the fingers off and used stiff copper wire to make fingers.....i then filled the hands with expanding foam, used some of the original digit ends, and milliput for knuckles/joints....

Thanks for the explanation!
Is the "fist-arm" poseable as well?
Got a pic of the "pole-through-body" solution as I´m still not sure how you mounted the arms to it?

Thanks for all the kind comments!

Markus, the arms had a flat section on the inner shoulder....so that the arms would join with the body and sit more or less flush....

What i did was remove the flat mounting lug, cut a hole in the flat section and push onto the pole protruding fom the body's shoulder area....i used right angle brackets to screw it all together when i had the appropriate shoulder/chest distance.....It was then just a case of trying to emulate Prowses body size/shape with foam and bubble wrap.

No, sadly the arms aren't poseable. I just got him in the best position i could and struggled, i mean REALLY struggled to get the outfit on him! Lol!

That is an exciting and very dynamic pose. The fingers are a great idea and I think we just recently saw Streetjudge use the same technique also to good effect.

You have captured the look my friend. Well done.

Planning a base by any chance?
