Here's more progress:

I had to remove the tail stabilizer because it's going farther back when I extend the end section. Lots of sculpting will ensue. And the tip of the nose needs reverse rhinoplasty.:lol

Temporal Investigations just contacted me regarding my build and also congratulated me... will this affect the outcome??:facepalm

Seriously, this is all by eye, usually I do sketches & stuff, but since this is just for the pure fun of it, I'm going Indiana Jones on it.
And I *love* the movie, it makes me cry at the end every time. There's no build like one that MEANS something to you, eh?

Okay, I can sort of see where you are going with this a little bit. The cutback intakes on the pods at least improve the looks somewhat. The plans for the new rear also look good as well (OMS pods as an engine section fairing, why didn't I think of that?).

I can see it coming together. I think that's how the FP kit was built, sculpted onto a revell one..or maybe it just used the wings.

I've got 3 of the FP kits. They aren't bad, they capture the look.

Yeah, they look great... I'm just not partial to resin as a kit material- I like it more for prop replicas with very few pieces- none of 'em small or thin.
But that's just personal preference.

More sanding, more sculpting- I'm concentrating on the front...

I know it looks a little goofy right now- I left extra that will be sanded down.

:lol More shining: I attached the subtly modded exhausts (drops of glue to the edges, then scraped with a knife to get the effect) on a scratched backing- next the housing...

I'm almost certain the FP kit master was an extremely modified shuttle like you've got there, the wings and tail are identical.
