MR TOS Enterprise - new pics

Did you know that the lighting build specs for the 11 footer (when it was modified, post Pilot configuration) called for blue light to come from behind the grills on the nacelles (the grills that run the length of the inside of the Nacelles where the Intercoolers are)? They nixed it because of time, money, and the fact that the Nacelle steel and wood construction wasn't conducive to quick modification. So, as designed, the TOS Enterprise would have had blue light coming from the Nacelles, just like the rest of Trek-dom.

That is so cool. Has anybody out there rendered this in 3D?

I'd love to see what it would have looked like.

A quick search found these:

They don't show the nacelles lit, we may have pics of that later today, but they show the final version of the paint scheme. It's the model you'll be receiving.

So what's up with the photon emitter organ thingy? It looks a little different, is it removable or does it rotate?

Thanks for the new pics, Barry.

Like others, I'm curious to know about the apparent changes to the design of the photon emitter. Is it, in fact, rotatable or removable? :love

Hello, I'm new to the forum, and I've enjoyed reading everyone's posts. I have been a fan of TOS Enterprise since before I was a teenager, never outgrown it, I guess. I must have built about a dozen of the AMT kits in my youth, along with klingon battle cruisers, Space 1999 Eagles, etc. I think the upcoming release from MR is fantastic, and have been waiting and watching in anticipation, (yes, I have one on order). I have mixed feelings on the support stand; I kind of liked the one from the Unobtainium model. The grid lines on the upper saucer appear a little too prominent to me, also, and I'm already wondering if there is something I can do to lessen the effect without causing any damage. Anyhow, it's everything I wanted my old AMT ships to be, and a whole lot more. Thanks for letting me post.

ohmygod.... Barry... tears in my eyes man.... those are LOVELY pics... thanks so much for this...

Appreciative as all get out,

I can't tell from the pics, is the dish metal or plastic. (Crosses finger for metal.)

Great, thanks for the pic fix. :)

(penciled or no, the grid is still too prominent. ;))
