Except for the climactic battle taking up the last third of the movie, I liked Man of Steel quite a lot. But I feel as though I should qualify my opinion by stating I was always far more of a Batman fan than a Superman fan, and that I liked the 1950s television series Adventures of Superman starring George Reeves, but never really cared for the "Donner era" Superman movies (a.k.a. Superman-Superman IV)--Christopher Reeve was very good in the role, except for being far too thin, but everything else about those movies was horrible. After peering into the abyss that is the Man of Steel and Batman/Superman threads, I'm going to say Man of Steel.
Yikes!
Christopher Reeve was very good in the role, except for being far too thin,
but everything else about those movies was horrible.
If that were true he wouldn't have needed to be so muscular in the comic books either. Since the precedence of Superman having a large muscular physique was established there, it should have been more closely adhered to regardless of the "yellow sun" reconning. Reeve was clearly in shape without the need for the type of padding worn by his predecessor George Reeves, but he wasn't exactly in super shape. While I see where you're coming from on this front, in-universe his size doesn't matter. Due to the nature of Kryptonian powers under a yellow sun, the Kryptonian equivalent of Stephen Hawking would still be immensely powerful.
You're right, I had forgotten about Williams' score. So, okay, except for Reeve's performance and Williams' score, everything else about them was horrible.Well, it was a product of its era and definitely showed that through fashion, but you're forgetting one very important fact. Those movies gave us the quintessential Superman theme, amongst John Williams' finest work.
the remake of "Solaris" with George Clooney for nearly 10 years ago.

Brotherhood of the Wolf
I loved the Fountain, but I can kind of understand why so few people tend to dislike it. It's a hard watch... although the visuals are beautiful, the themes can be difficult for some to cope with. I was a blubbering mess by the end of the movie and even my husband was upset.
I could just imagine someone being unprepared and watching it shortly after losing someone to cancer or something and being devestated by it.
The Lost Skeleton of Cadavera, yep definatly Lost Skeleton
OH and Mr. Magoo.
Who doesn't like Killer Klowns From Outer Space? It's classic!!
Being old is not what makes it a classic--being a classic is what makes it a classic.
Mine are definitely Waterworld, Dodgeball, The Adventures of Mark Twain, and Killer Klowns From Outer Space.
