They are filming part of the Green Lantern out at the Lakefront Airport.
They sent out a news release about the numerous explosions in the
area and the cast and crew have treated the locals extremely well.
The Louisiana film commission does a heck of a job and the numerous
films in production have helped the economy. The tax incentives are
really what makes the area the "Hollywood South" and lack of unions
and red tape makes the area a prime spot for countless new productions
coming to the area.
I have been to over 20 movie sets in the past year and can
say that the locals deeply appreciate the work and everyone
is really having fun working on all these productions. It is set
up so the more locals and local companies you hire the better
the tax breaks and this has been a wonderful partnership for
the past few years.
I was on the set recently during the filming of a movie about a
pair of Detectives investigating a serial killer in Texas
(filmed in the New Orleans area) and the entire crew were nothing but
kind to everyone.
Just wanted to let everyone know that there are some really great
people in the film industry and everyone in the state appreciates
their kindness.
