That's right folks! I'm a HUGE fan of MK and have long wanted to journey into MK costuming. First up I am working on the MK1 Movie version of Scorpion. It won't be completely 100% accurate, but I will be shooting for as accurate as possible.
First up, the mask. I commissioned Fierfek to create a pep file for the mask using pics from movie screen caps, as well as screen caps of others masks. Here's my build:
My first build attempt came out WAY too big so I had to start over:
Mask assembled:
I resined the outside, then resined and used fiberglass cloth on the inside, then once that was dry I coated the outside with a 1/1 mix of Bondo and Resin, and used the bondo hardener:
Sanded smooth, and a few details added, as well as the texturing of the indentions:
More details added (seam lines and rivet holes) and primed:
A coating of Satin Black:
Then a heavy silver-wash:
Then a light misting of satin black:
Now I gave it a light black-wash, painted the indentions a copper/red color, and painted the 'rivet holes' gold, and finally gave it another very light black-wash:
Finished:
