Moebius Battlestar Galactica. The old one!

pretty sure you left out some of the actual models used.

GEEZ!!! $56.00 for a FAKE cup-o-noodles??? You can get 246 of the real thing for $56.00 HOLY HELL! Miss the other ones? What self respecting modeler doesn't have the silly surfer kits?

Those rank right up there with this:

If you ain't got a couple of these, how can you face the morning every day?

So I guess you won't be pre-ordering the 1/1 Piece of Trash scale model?

I can't vouch for it's accuracy, and it may need some after market photo etch or something to help make it more accurate. Also not sure about the correct paint color :D

I also scored several of the Dragon Leopold and Morser Karl kits for doing pretty much the same thing you are doing; the planetoid model will get it's detailing done! Leftover bits will go into the box 'o doom for doing Drago's Dragonship from the same tv show.

Ok Mr. Brown, if you paint strip any of these, specifically any of the "F-Toys" versions, brake fluid was the only thing that budged it. Super Clean, for the first time, let me down and I was VERY disappointed. It is my "go to" for every paint stripping job and it never fails... until now. I tried oven cleaner... nothin'. I tried 100% Alcohol... Did a little, but not much. Brake fluid took it off in about 30 minutes.

Just an FYI. Mainly, because I've had an itch to use the letters "FYI" for several hours now.

I prefer to invest in such timeless pieces of modren art an The Unmade Bed.

$12 plastic trash model kits aren't overpriced nearly enough! Make their price four figures, throw in some box wine, and we'll call it a deal!

Gotta admit though... That's an awful lotta parts for a model kit of one sheet of paper wadded up.

The challenge here is clearly not in the building of the kit, but in a realistic paint job. Freehanding all the tiny letters so it looks like a type written page will take forever. If only there was a crushed can and crumpled potato chip bag you could build an entire upended trashcan diorama.

Give it just s few weeks. Out-of-stock" is all. What color was y'all figurin' on for the typed letters?

Ok... Stop beggin'. It's beneath y'all. Just sayin'. I'm not fully back in gear, but the new little kits has got me a itchin', so cuttin' has started. These pictures ain't the best, but I couldn't seem to get them much better. I'm old. I'm tired. I'm old AND tired and was tired of tryin', but I believe this will show a little of my next plans here.

Here's the designated area on the replica we found pictures of. I've chosen this one because the before restored Galactica we've got pictures of has several things that don't seem to be correct.

Replica (I think is correct):

Here the original Galactica with what I'm thinking isn't quite corrected yet:

One of the small kits I picked up was a 1/144 British Centurion and the part at the forward edge of the circled picture is from the TAMIYA 1/25th Centurion and so are MOST of the track links we can see all over this engine section.

Here's the crappy pictures I mentioned earlier that y'all gonna have to suffer through. May show something though.

The large tank tread shown in my pictures is one from my 1/25 Centurion. Those tan colored tracks in my pictures are from one of the 1/144 TRUMPETER Morser Karl kits and the smaller black track section is from one of the 1/144 JagDpanther kits. I was planning on using the JagDpanther track section because it more closely matched the ones on the studio Galactica, but I'm pretty sure those are wrong, so I may end up using the tan ones and try to modify them some to more closely match the Centurion track. I do have a 1/72 VESPID British Centurion on the way from CHINA, but it won't be here for another few days... if at all. I'll show what it looks like when it gets here, but the VESPID has all plastic tread in sections. It's a static model. The tread might be pretty close from that kit. I'm hoping anyway, that one kit was $30.00 by the time it gets down here to da bayou so I won't be buyin' a bunch of that price "just to see", if y'all know what I mean.

Nice detective work. Finding donors for this scale sure is hard

Never noticed it before, but this part look like a tank deck. I would have to be quite small scale if the treads are 1/35. Guessing maybe 1/72 or even HO scale 1/87, maybe as small as 1/144?

Not sure if you could find something that small for this build. Would have to be something like micromachines or z scale

If memory serves, they used Roco MiniTanks on the engine section. There are some for sale on the bay of e, that look like good matches.

I dunno if this will help any... from the Pappas cd:

Of COURSE it'll help Mr. Brown! Thank you very much sir. You and I both know, this type thing gets very touchy sometimes and kits ain't cheap for a buncha "buy-and-try" anymore.

I may have found a couple of the same shots? Much smaller, but here's what I've got like the one you posted.

Those come from the "Byyourcommand" website, or something similar site? I have a few from an old friend of mine named Mark Dickson. He's no longer here and he used to offer me tons of Galactica stuff several years ago, but I wouldn't let him since I never planned on building a studio scale Galactica and sending files on the net was a slow process. I shoulda got them from him because it's too late now and I miss my old buddy.

Funny you should say that because I do love me some Columbo and I'm proud as I can be it shows! Hours well spent and I KNEW it wasn't for nuthin' no matter WHAT my wife said. BOO-YAH!

Mr. Analyzer, I ain't no expert by any means, but Yes, that tank you've got circled, and most of those along that edge, are ROCO Mini-Tanks in HO scale, so I was NOT the only one who wasted tim... I mean, WATCHED, Columbo. BOO-YAH AGAIN!!! I knew, by god, she was wrong.

That particular tank is the ROCO #254

Those tank tread links (on the studio Galactica) are mostly from here:

The rear deck from this same 1/25 kit is what you see here:

The worst part about hunting down donor kits on this one is, 1/144 is STILL too big and I seriously doubt there's much, smaller, with any detail worth trying. All those 1/144 kits I just picked up are strictly hoping they'll have some things to speed up the scratch building of things.

Mr. edge, you is 100% correct. Thank you. See, I woulda knowed that if I hadn't wasted so much time watching Colum... WOAH???

Does anybody know what types of tanks?

Those along the sides of the engine section, Mr. moonbus, are ROCO Mini-Tanks. Inside that gap between the upper and lower sections of the engine are the treads from the ROCO.s all tucked in.

Thank y'all for the help fellas! I knew I liked y'all.

;)

Tanks... Why'd it have to be tanks...

Haven't asked yet Mr. Analyzer, but do you want some of these pictures I got? May not be the best ever, but if'n I gots it, you can get it.
