Metal Gear Solid Props - Guns, Gear and Gadgets

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4 Props - Snakes Operator

I didn't have the $$$ to get a nice Base for my project so it's just JG:confused. I'm hoping to get a G&P M4 Next though:) The foxhound logo was just printed out on some sticker paper and slapped on there. I will be trying to make an actual transfer, but since the "foxhound" thing is white, my printer can't print white sooo I don't really know, haven't looked into it

Ramiel, have you heard of the company cold steel. They make rubber knives and they have about 4 different styles. Also have you thought of using tinted glass for snakes HUD thing. I thought I'd be a good idea so then you could see out of it.

Anyway cool stuff guys and www.dentrinityshop.com and www.uncompany.com is a great website for 1911 stuff.

That's Omi Gibson... The best of the best (even if she is "helped" by her father who SHOULD be a professional propmaker in Japan...)
Now there's almost NO WAY I could make a better MGS4 Raiden cosplay... At least she didn't make the rest of the costume (yet!:rolleyes)...
Well, I'm still up for a challenge...;)
Of course I will need some help to do it properly... But I have plenty of time!:D

Damn, a quick google of her name and she has the MGS cosplay down! I found pics of her with the visor down here. She should join the RPF and post in the Costuming forum. She is like a professional Cosplayer!

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4 Props - Snakes Operator

Apparently she doesn't share her secrets... Unfortunately...:(

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4 Props - Snakes Operator

Her or her FATHER's secrets.:love
Exactly!:D

I have to admit that I'm always impressed and sometimes jealous of her costumes... Fortunately I'm not envious, or I would have been really pissed off this time!:lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4 Props - Snakes Operator

I bought the essential collection trilogy and after beating mgs1 I would love to make a functional Cyborg ninja/grey fox * I think that's his name* helmet.

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4 Props - Snakes Operator

If you have a CNC machine I have made the 3D model with the correct shape of the helmet... Then You should just cut the holes for the eyes, the front light/sensor and the various "parts" of it... A nice coat of paint, some leds a couple of finishing touches, some servo motors to make it functional, and you are set!:lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4 Props - Snakes Operator

I wonder what would be a simple way to make the helmet open and close, even if by hand.

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4 Props - Snakes Operator

maybe a couple connected together. I'll use my awesome ms paint "skillz" to draw up what I was thinking. lol

Hmmm, I think I got it, and it could work, you would probably need some magnets to keep it close...:)

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4 Props - Snakes Operator

Yup I was thinking the same thing, maye earth magnets? they are suuper strong! Have magnets in 3 places, On the inside of the cheek flap on the place it touches on the outside of the helmet and on the inside somewhere where it touches when it's closed.
Could you possibly take a few screen shots of your 3d model? side, front, top, back ?
If you could, that would be awesome, if not, that's ok. :)
