Limited Run Melnor Soakers for Vibro Axe/ Vibro Lance

I am awaiting the shipment for the last of the soakers which should hopefully be arriving to me within the next week or so. I will be able to get everyone shipping quotes when they arrive.

These are proving to be more popular than I ever imagined and I'm so excited to supply everyone with them.

The good news is that the soakers have arrived much sooner than I anticipated. The bad news is that I won't be able to get quotes to people until next week. Unfortunately we had a death in the family and my time has been limited at best.

So I had a recent inquiry into whether or not these are original parts. Given that I have been as transparent as possible I agree that this is a valid question. This was my response for anyone else who is curious.

As far as their origins I don't have any product boxes or instructions or anything like that but the place I purchased them from bought them wholesale from a business who was liquidating the last of their stock and from what I was told these are originals. The other thing is that with this last batch some of them are a bit dirty and have scuffs from storage, a bit more than the first batches I purchased which would indicate that they have been sitting in storage and are not newly made. I have searched high and low and I have not been able to source these from anywhere else which is why I purchased the last of their stock to ensure that everyone who wanted this part could get one. It is a RARE opportunity which I am privileged to have considering how difficult it is getting to source original parts for Original Trilogy props.

As far as my research has led me to believe these are no longer manufactured by Melnor because they have a new design for this product which can be seen here:

Melnor has remodeled this item and these soakers I am selling are the original version which is no longer made and I have the last of my suppliers stock. These are old (new) stock.
 
Lol. True. I love my plants! ;)

I just wanted to keep these in the prop and costume community and considering Melnor has updated their design I didn't feel as though I was robbing any gardeners of the opportunity for this product if there was a newer "better" model available from Melnor.

Plus how often do we as prop builders get an opportunity to source original parts like this? It's so rare these days especially with the parts from the original films it's getting harder and harder to source these pieces 40 plus years on, many of which where old when the films were made (graflex etc.) This way anyone who wants one can get one now and there will be no competition with non prop consumers. lol
