MCL34N's Iron Man Mark IV- pic heavy- One Year Later Pic End of Page 12

Re: MCL34N's Iron Man Mark IV- pic heavy (Convention pics, 4-26 pg7)

The foil helps quickly mould compound curves which can then be translated to card - as seen in the central brown piece. An elegant solution.

MCL34N' where do ya get your thin cardboard from do ya buy it in sheets an if so how big?

I am sure one could get in trouble. However you could go to the postoffice and grab a bunch of those priority mail package things... they are free I think and are rather thin cardboard.

Hey guys! Here's an update on the progress of the arms-

Once I'm finished with the shoulders I'm going to cover all of the raw armor in duct tape, detail it, and attach it! At that point I should be finished!

Re: MCL34N's Iron Man Mark IV- pic heavy (Convention pics, 4-26 pg7)

could you please release the templates after you're finished with the suit?

Re: MCL34N's Iron Man Mark IV- pic heavy (Arm update, 5-6)

Hey all! Sorry for the lack of updates, I'm currently moving from one house to another so I had to put the suit on hold... but I'm very close to completion, and will have pics probably within the next week or two!

Thanks for looking!

Re: MCL34N's Iron Man Mark IV- pic heavy (Arm update, 5-6)

Hey guys! I'm done moving for the most part and should be finished in the next few days! My first order of business was fixing some of the allignment in the chest and the shape of the armor under the arms that have been bugging me in pictures for the last few weeks. Here are some pics, since it's been soo long! Also if you look realllly close in the third picture you can see lines at the bottom corner of the chest plate that mark how I plan to trim it a bit.

Actually, It's just the foam rubber shelf liner you can buy pretty much anwhere for super cheap. Gives it a cool mechanical detail.

Heh heh thanks yes me and my house of college age male roomates have a way of going through pizza boxes like no ones bussiness, and Little Caesars I have found has very finely corregated cardboard for their pizza boxes, giving you strength and nice curves. I probably went through 50-60 pizza boxes making this suit. Anyway, I'm finishing up the gloves right now, then it's on to finishing the rest of the arms and I'm finished. Expect a lot of pics and vids when that day comes! Here are some pictures of my work on the gloves, which have a surprising amount of dexterity in the fingers! Forgive the Myspace style bathroom pics.

Oh and Iron Man has naked legs because my leg armor doesnt fit over that mannequins rigid feet...

Thanks! The finger pieces are all bent cardboard covered in duct tape, then the palm is craft foam covered in duct tape for some flexibility.
