Mattel Ghost Trap?

Got mine in today and it looks like they did double bill me and send me 2, I only ordered 1 !!! Along with that, does anyone else get the horrible grinding noise with their doors on their traps? Mine sounds like hell, it certainly sounds like it'll just snap one day.

A guy on GBfans tore his apart. It is a spring loaded gear that lets the rest of the mechanism spin safely if it overwinds.

Wow there is already a tear down? Lol brave soul, thats good to hear though, at first I figured it had plastic gears and the things were just grinding away at themselves.

Got my trap today and think alot of the problems people are having is from mixed or old batteries. Iused some average batteri and the doors only openned part way and the pedal light woildnt work. Bought some new ones and all is good.

And holy crap, if you run the test system cycle, the last action is everything on and tne trap shakes like nuts!

How do you run the test system cycle?

Mine arrived, love it. Am just seconds away from suiting up and running up and down the block throwing out the trap!

How do you run the test system cycle?

put it in movie mode, have it off, press the pedal down, holding it down, turn it on, let the start sequence sound finish, then press pedal. Each time you press the pedal it will do one of the light or sound effects, going through all of them, until the end when it does everything at once and shakes like mad.

Nah... Same as always, last time I had trouble with the PKE, so I purchased from a run here in the RPF. But now it's too late to do it the same way for the trap... I wonder, but it looks more people ask for a run for the PKE or just because it was not shipped international?!?

BTW: If I don't get a trap, this was the last time I ordered from this shop... :angry

Not sure, there support is atrocious though, I now have 2 and luckily, I wasn't tight on my credit card or else it would have bounced or went negative. I'm thinking of just ebaying this one though, they seem to be selling for a bit on there, so maybe it worked out in the end. Still wasn't a fun surprise.

Just got an email from my seller in the States asking me if its ok for him to pre open my package and check the unit before shipping as there have been some issue reports. These appear to be battery releated and not a design issue.
I thought this was cool from him to prevent any unexpected cross continental delays and to check first to see if i wanted the package left unopened.

I couldn't get my foot pedal to power on. Thought maybe weak batteries or a bad cable. After eliminating those possibilities I found one of the pins the cable attaches to had a lot of what appeared to be some sort of rubber cement on it. Hard to get off in a tight space. Once I got it all removed, everything worked perfectly.

So I have been tracking this crazy path across the US via USPS.com
The path was in an "out of the way" route, and it sat for four days at a processing center. Now it says they are transferring it to USPS??? Who was shipping it before giving it to the postal service? Seriously, this could have shipped in a straight path in half the time :lol
