Mass Effect 3 Ending, opinions and feelings?

It's odd, that. I'm guessing from reading BSN a bit lately it's because the average age of members is a lot lower than it is here? That or gamers have more problems than I'd realized. :p

I think it's that bioware members tend to be younger. Most of us older gamers stick with the old school style games. Plus there are more problem with gamers lol

He apparently is the only one allowed to comment as he's the head of the online community or something. He's also got a really bad attitude from all the posts i've seen where he deals with folks. He's the one who shut down an entire section of the forum for 3 hours once. I contacted him once on there and you'd think i'd poked him with a sharp stick.

We all knew that they'd not say anything until PAX at least. i don't know why folks expected something tomorrow. April 1st is not a good day to release something when you're this distrusted already.

Well with the PR nightmare that he's dealing with I wouldn't blame him for being edgy; some of the Retakers and anti-Retakers are sadly being very immature and hateful. Hell, Jessica Merizan went from being cordial and friendly with the BSN crowd to jaded very rapidly after her interactions were picked apart almost in real time. She bounced back shortly after but stopped engaging all the same.

Has Chris come off this way before ME3 came out?

I've come across more than a few posts of his that I thought were pretty much entirely justified. Really got to second what you say about immaturity and hatefulness.

Doesn't excuse BW from blame, but hoo boy.

As near as I can tell from members who have been around for a long time Chris has always been a bit of a jerk, same with stanleywoo the other mod who is thread locking happy. Jessica never posts on teh forum even though she's in charge of the online end of the forum and such. Her twitter was run by a bot 99% of the time after ME3 came out just like the regular bioware twitter, you can tell they were bots because the responses were all the variation of the same thing each time.

Chris did have one amusing twitter when the crapstorm hit that he'd had enough for one day on the forum and was going to bed because his soul was crushed. Bioware and it's employees have been coming under fire for years after how bad Dragon Age 2 was, which is why they got the new forum rules about talking trash about employees. it got extremely ugly when the one writer said she didn't even play games or something like that (i forgot what exactly) and it set off a crap storm that seemed to light up every part of the forum against BW.

I think it went along the lines of her saying that games shouldn't have to have be restricted to gameplay (She won on that one. Story mode). Also, she chastised the bullying fans by tweeting "You're jealous because I have a vagina and I work in the game industry!".

The Mass Effect Series.

Stick to the same story and same level of cadence, but bring it all up to next generation graphics, improve combat, and no thermal clips. Second game needs to be affected by the first in more ways, needs to be more relevant to the overall story (No Human Reaper nonsense) and needs to keep the galaxy as the #1 threat instead of just humanity. Third game will need to go through a complete rewrite. I know that there are a lot of "95% of it was awesome until the ending!", but there are so many elements outside of bugs that just don't compliment the overall story.

If anime companies can redo their own shows (Ghost in the Shell, Evangelion) and games (Biohazard), I'd like Mass Effect to try and do the same. Only this time, have writers stick with the entire series and actually commit to plot points that the each game spends time establishing. And of course, REAL multiple endings that are so broad, you cannot possibly get half of them if you select "new game" in part 3. Good jumping in point be danged.

That sounds about right. Sadly it just set the bullies off more and even those defending her kinda got fed up with her attitude.

Was this meant for the "game remakes" thread? Because I was going to write almost the same post myself, but didn't get around to it...

I certainly didn't. you don't realize the pressure that a woman in gaming has within the industry. It's automatically perceived that women in gaming are eithe HR, PR or work in administration. Not part of the creative process.

her reply was on par. These are just fans who can't handle that some people HAVE a fracking different view than they do.

Holy crap. Stanley Woo over on the BW forum has been going insane shutting down threads again. He's shut 4 or 5 that i've seen so far. BW is really cracking down on folks even when they actually support the company. The bullies are way over the line. Sadly i'm not impressed about any statement an BW employee has made. Sadly with the internet you get people who like to be jerks that they'd never be in real life not to mention lunatics like she ran into.

I guess women working in the game industry doesn't phase me since a large portion of the girls at the Art Institute when i was there wanted to be in the game industry and this was in the 90s which was odd back then.

Actually from what I've seen is that those who support BW by posting a thread are being "flooded" by anti-bioware morons. Whole threads are closed because these haters are just making threads unreadable, and hostile and some of these "fans" are outright attacking each other.

Its easier to close the entire thread, than to delete just a few posts from one.

run a forum that gets about 2000 posts a day, and you will see that its easier just to close threads than to delete one post after another.

This is an amusing one about amazon.uk not selling some copies of ME3 anymore.
Sadly the fans on all sides are also fighting within each other. It would just be easier if they'd all shut up and stop giving BW any cash or attention until things are sorted out.

I'd go nuts trying to moderate that forum at this point. The one i was a mod on was bad enough but with the crap storm bioware's in i'd have quit. I hope they're paying these guys cause on top of whatever their day job at BW is it can't be worth it.

If they bothered to stop hating, they would have known that some UK customers were getting discs where some content couldn't load, and the VO was not synced.

Had this same problem with a recent title sold in teh US. Amazon put up a warning, same message as that one, but it had to do with Voice sync in some of the cutscenes.

Oh and the game is selling on UK. There was a reported issue with EMS for the 360.

Hopefully this weekend as it's PAX. I know there's a new mod on the BSN forums who is cutting up posts to edit out stuff. He says its all the negative stuff but I wonder. They seem to really be pushing damage control leading up to PAX. I think they hope to diffuse any angry mobs from showing up. I also noticed that the mods are coming under attack on the forum. I've been staying clear as it's just going to get uglier.

Again, I'm not a supporter for making game developers change their products outside of bugs and gameplay issues. Who knows, maybe the indoc theory is correct and even though the ending won't change, it will some how continue post Shepard taking a breath. Of course if that's not the case, at least I'll feel vindicated for not giving a crap about any ME3 DLC. All roads will lead to willful submission to a stupid genocidal star child.

I don't think the ending should be changed. However I will wait until I hear whether you get to rescue the Normandy crew and rebuild the Relays. If it's just new missions before the ending I'm not interested. Also if the second DLC is a new costume DLC it will be a joke.

I doubt it would be a new ending. I think it would be like Broken Steel for Fallout 3 where it picks up and continues on. That's the only cost effective thing that makes sense. Sadly i think BW is going to give everyone a giant middle finger when it comes to anything for ME 3. A few more games like this and they'll be sold off by EA or dissolved.
