Any way to attach a plastic mask to a spandex hood while also creating a burnt skin effect on both the hood and mask to blend them in?

Hello, I’m working on my Halloween costume and I’m going as Jeff the Killer this year. I had the idea to use a plastic mask as a base and somehow blend it with a white spandex hood to make it look like a burned head. Is there any way I can do this successfully? I was thinking about coating both the spandex hood and the mask with liquid latex and blending them using a burn effect with liquid latex and cotton fibers, but I’m worried it might not work. Any ideas to help achieve the desired look would be greatly appreciated!
