I've seen people use the hinges joints from knee braces actually, since they extend pretty far you can attach them on the inside of the thigh and shin and the bend will be right at the knee without putting pressure at the pivot point if using Chicago screws, hope that makes senseI have also finished making mine and I am having trouble in connecting the thigh and shin together. I used chicago screws for the bicep to forearm but not sure what to do with the thigh to shin. the only parts I have to work with are the bit next to the knee and the 2 extentions from the thigh, they don't even line up (and will have wrong pivot points)
any ideas?? I can upload a photo if it helps

I see what you're saying now,yes I would remove the side pieces attached to the knee, you would only need the pieces extending from the thigh to basically cover that gap,the hinge, bracket thing I mentioned could connect from the inside of the thigh on one end and the inside of the shin on the other with the pivot point located right in the centerYeah, I have seen people using brackets on the inside of the suit and just put a bolt through the middle and that act as a pivot point.
but what do I do with these?
these are the 2 extensions I was talking about. the part which extends from the thigh and the bit next to the knee

When put together...... they are ridiculously tight and are rubbing already, and there is no way they can bend smoothly at the angles they are in

as you can see they don't line up (I suppose I can bend it back but that won't leave me much room for my knees to fit in) AND these pieces are not exactly in the middle where your joint should be. if I put the chicago screw on them then I fear it won't be pivoting right as it's towards the front of the knee
Do you guys think I should remove the part next to the knee (on the shin piece) and just replace it with a metal bracktet? That way the extension piece from the thigh should still cover the bracket
