I finally started and finished up a pair of kits I’ve had for a while. I took no in-progress photos (sorry!).

Mando Blaster was bought second-hand here on the RPF as an un-started kit. All of the parts were new as they would come directly from War Machine (Blaster Factory) except missing a few of the screws. The finish is a mix of flat black lacquer paint and Aluminum Black. I didn’t want ‘factory fresh’ but I also didn’t want super-weathered. I was hoping to hit ‘worn but well-maintained’ as Mando seems like the kind of guy who keeps his weapons clean and in good working order.

Rey EP9 Lightsaber is a KR Sabers kit including the bottom and mid-band with a Romans top. I definitely wanted to go heavy on the weathering considering the saber exploded in two and was welded back together. It’s hard to see in photos but the saber is actually still very shiny and bright in person but also has lots of chemical weathering on the nickel plating. The weld marks were made using a tiny grinding bit on my Dremmel with topical ‘scorch marks’. I’m weirdly really happy with how it came out.
