Mandalorian Season 3

Not yet. It would need references to wolves and Plo Koon to be "Full Filoni".
Got to keep some stuff back for the next seasons I suppose.
I mean, Filoni was actually IN this week's episode, so I think that's a positive for "Full-Filoni", for which YMMV.

As for myself, it's pretty cool to see the characters I enjoy from the animated media, come over to live-action.
Not overly bothered by that and good luck to him to do it and get himself in there. What I am beginning to dislike is the fact that new characters and stories can’t seem to ever be allowed to breathe and grow without the “hey look it’s…” being factored in.

Now I loved season 1, and for the most part season 2, whilst also admitting I did like Luke’s appearance at the end. Bo I can see a point of including, but I still feel that even having her has been a detriment to Din Djarin’s potential.

“Oh wow, more Coruscant. Oh, even better, more cubicles!”

I don’t like this season. The story ideas just seem immature and pieced together. The motivations either aren’t fleshed out well or they seem counterintuitive. And above all, you can now sense there is no longer the most basic fundamental of a good story: a beginning, middle, and end.

When we watch these episodes, my wife no longer even pays attention. She will look up and be interested intermittently (like in the Armorer’s speech this episode), but she isn’t invested at all. Once Andor started, she didn’t like it at all, and now she doesn’t really care for this show either. We both agree Bad Batch is probably the superior show currently.

I think one issue is the dramatic change from a personal story to this larger over arching story with huge implications. Unfortunately, we already know a pseudo-Empire returns. These whispers and rumors of a growing threat…Yep, we actually know that’s a thing already. Can the different sects of Mandos overcome their strict rules to reunite and visit a very habitable Mandalore? Well, when you change your rules all nimbly nimbly, why have the rules at all? Is Moff Gideon alive? Yeah, probably so. That dude is a menace. There’s Beskar on that imperial shuttle? Well, every other person seems to have some. There’s even a huge drum thing on Ferrix made of it.

I think the most interesting thing is that the armorer is most definitely going to play Bokatan and Din against each other. I don’t even know why I think that’s going to interesting. I guess it’s better than watching every other giant animal attack a camp of weekend warriors.

Being as the lead actor is never seen, if I was him I would just get stunt guys to do the whole thing ! No early calls, no stuffy costume and collect the paycheck based on my brand ! Also I would be doing that mushroom zombie show at the same time ...

This new series is Iike fan fiction written by a 12 year old !
That’s absolutely correct. One time in an undergrad creative writing class, we had to workshop each kid’s short story. The author had to stay quiet during feedback, and then can respond just one time at the end.

I said this kid’s story read like fanfiction. The professor asked what that meant, and I said something like “it doesn’t connect well and it’s like a going out of business sale for things happening. They never have any focus and they don’t realize their scope is way too big.”

When we were done he asked me how I knew it was fan fiction because it actually was LOL.

It is somewhat hard to watch a show, and feel any emotion from the characters, when most of the protagonists wear a welder’s bucket over their heads…

Tell me, is this guy sad? Angry? Depressed?

Give up? He’s actually elated with joy and has a gigantic grin…well, under the mask.

I would gladly watch a series about Baby Yoda doing his cute little walk and eating soup ! Also , skywalker was a A. Hole for taking him from his Mando Pappy ! This new show is burning out as it strays away from cute soup eating ...

Helmets and masks are problematic when actors use monotone voices and don't really employ expressive body language. Vader was very well loved right away despite not taking his mask off until ROTJ and Fett never took his helmet off in the OT. It can be done effectively, it just isn't here.

Perhaps they're going to move away from the main characters wearing helmets most of the time as it seems like they're working on justification for that with Bo-Katan being able to walk in "both worlds."

Perhaps they will begin having the bucket-head actors “emote” by using exaggerated body language to express themselves…

Yes , I'd enjoy seeing Bo-Katan walk both paths... Especially from behind !

Seeing as his head is slightly downcast, but not enough to be sad or depressed, I’m assuming that he’s in a contemplative state.

I was wondering the same thing. Almost like they blew the budget on CGI that week and didn't have enough left for an accurate number of extras for all the townfolk.
Some looked to still have been manning their shops. I imagine some were captured or stuck as well. Not everyone had time to evacuate once the cruiser showed up.

Well, they are doing a show for Ahsoka. That show is clearly picking up the end of Rebels where sometime after the battle of Endor Ahsoka shows up on Lothal to get Sabine to go look for Ezra. Kanaan is dead...so, that leaves one other person to go along - Zeb. So, a little teaser for the other show that lasted, what? 5 whole seconds? And as others noted it matter not at all if you knew who it was or not.

We also know that Hera was still alive after Endor, & I'd assume, her kid. The chance of getting a live action Ghost crew reunion is fairly exciting to me.

I vaguely remember rumors of her casting back when the slew of SW shows were announced, but I don't remember which show it was for. Possibly the Rangers show, since she'd probably still be a pilot. That could be how Zeb joined as far as we know.

Either way... I'm excited about it.

The Ahsoka show sort of highlights the issue for me.

“Ah cool now Ahsoka is in Mando.”
“Wow no way now Bo is in Mando too.”
“Ah cool Bobba Fett is in Mando.”
“No wait now Mando, Luke, Grogu and Ahsoka are in Bobba Fett’s show…”

How many different series does one character need to appear in before it becomes too much? She’s already up to four of them.

As I said, just my opinion, but the direction the show is heading is leaving me cold to it, which is disappointing when I saw so much I loved in Season 1 with new characters, new situations for them etc. All because Filoni cannot help but have to keep going back to people, things/events that happened in other shows.

Is it a big deal? Clearly not to many which is great, but once this season is over, I think i’ll just bow out of it and let those who do enjoy it, do so without having to see my complaints about it.
