Mandalorian Reference Thread

If I was making that, I would cold cast and hydrodip it. It’s easier to add the black than it is to add the metal, and a custom print would be very replicatable with consistency that hand swirling would not offer.

getting a 360 degree dip would be fun though... front, back, sides.. that matches up.

I would imagine that would be the case with any dipping method, but it is certainly feasible. Much more so than trying to intrinsically cast it. I would likely mount one end to a handle and dip it much like guitars are dipped. Worst case scenario you’ll have to paint some connecting lines on the bottom.

Just to make sure I'm not confused by an optical illusion: Do you guys also see, that the upper side of the ingot (with the imperial symbol) is not completely flat, but a bit "wavy"? Or is this just an false impression due to the swirled lines?
I'm convinced that the 'front' is wavy and not uniformly flat. The wavy pattern doesn't seem to line up with the topography of the surface as it catches the light, so I don't think the pattern is causing an optical illusion. It also looks like it rises at it gets towards the edges.

But on second watching it seems more of an optical illusion, where the ingot is sunk into a puddle of silvery liquid to make it look like it's melting.
I think it's something along those lines. Put the resin prop on a surface with a hole in the bottom, then have mercury or gallium or something rise up through the hole and flood over the prop.

Dying to know the scope on the re-made Ponda Baba AR-7 pistol. Failed already in every attempt to find a 3/4" scope with a bell like that.

Regal Robot just announced this will be on sale on Black Friday. They've also said they would consider a 17.5-inch skull if there's interest for it. The real skull is 4-feet tall according to them.

I know this may seem obvious, but ill point it out anyway. The gloves appear to use yellow leather work gloves, with black finger-less leather gloves stretched over it as an outer glove. That or the tips from the yellow leather gloves were cut and sewn onto the black finger-less gloves.
Just my two cents ;)

.

I have been really interested in the gloves so I did some browsing.
They do appear to be very similar work gloves to your photo inside some black leather gloves (with Fingers cut off). I think this might be the simplest part of the outfit to cobble together

FYI - We're working out all the blasters in the Razor Crest weapons locker on The Parts of Star Wars...
We're hoping to have all 12 visible guns up soon. 7 are already posted.

Saw that, thanks Chris! We need a thread for this here, Facebook doesn’t lend itself to this kind of discussion IMO. I didn’t want to steal your post but basically love to see the exact thing discussed here.

We've got a couple other found part props to post yet too!

Chris
