Mandalorian Reference Thread

The other person is Maria. She’s the hair stylist for Gina Carano on the show. She confirmed that it is brown as well!

Someone named Aaron Higgins who claims to have worked on the show has confirmed the Beskar suit to be brown several times. There was another costumer for the show who said brown as well, but I can’t find the screencap at the moment.

I will agree in the top picture it looks brown, but in the lower one it definitely doesn't. In the top picture his helmet and armor almost has a purple tone to it, so I would say there's some lighting involved causing it.

Yeah, definitely. This is the same argument that has been going on and on in the Facebook groups. I’m just sharing what people who have seen it in person have said. Weathered Grey for episode 1-3, and Brown for Beskar.

Personally, I don’t trust any screenshots from this show. Not only due to color grading, but also because I have no clue what those full virtual LED sets are doing to things color wise.

If I was doing the Beskar version (Never! Episode 1-3 armor for life!) I would probably go dark grey myself. I think it would look better with the Beskar in person than the brown, and it certainly shoots that dark many times through the show.

Agree with you on the issue with the LED sets and going with dark grey. That's my plan with my kit.

It's another Hoth Han blue vs brown debate.

Yeah, to me it boils down to whether you want screen or prop/costume accuracy. Personally, I'd go with grey too because that's what it actually looks like to me in the show.

FYI, most RIT dyes have a purple/red under base. Particularly their grays and browns. If you were to do a 30 sec, to one minute dip dye bath using a mix of one of their grays with their chocolate brown, you'd achieve a very similar color. Wash out the excess dye with hot water. Repeat for desired darkness.

The slider is a 2in rounded metal loop from Strapworks. Someone in the Parts of Star Wars facebook page posted it. I had the rivets from years ago when I was going to try and do leather pouches for a Jedi belt. The rivet size should be readily available.

I think it’s a double rivet on both left and right sides. I have a feeling it’s spaced apart similar to the belt
grommets.
I have a slider 2in but can’t put straps in it two small. Weird

I don’t know if this is the appropriate place to ask, but did anyone confirm the maker of the garindan spy mask used in the first episode?

New Mandalorian products from Regal Robot...

I have the small version of this and it's pretty nice. This large one would be impressive, but it's $275 + shipping.

I'm definitely getting the skull and mudhorn plaque, though I will wait til May the 4th to order as Regal Robot tends to have 20% off sales or free shipping.

Thanks for reminding me of that.

I'm considering the same two items.

Hot Toys just shared some pics of their Beskar version Mandalorian! First decent shots of the Knife blade and flashlight, as well as a VERY brown suit.
Hoping this ships soon so we can get some more shots of that knife.
