Man of Steel (Pre-release)

Ill have to actually see her play the role to judge on how she is as Lois. I was pleased they chose her just cus of her previous movies (loved her in the fighter).

I think she has a wholesome, old fashioned vibe to her..so I like the choice, but we will see!

Bringing that little bit of background to Lois could be interesting. Her hard-hitting reporter personality could be what first attracts Clark to Lois, but the more wholesome side under the tough-as-nails exterior could be what really makes him fall for her.

But again, we'll see how it all plays out on screen...

Not seeing it either. You would think that a reporter, regardless of sex needs to be hard as nails to get the good stories, and I am not going off of the campy 80's Superman which I love. Personally, I was hoping for Olivia Wilde.

Olivia is good. My pick would have been Rashida Jones.

For some reason, I don't think Clark would go for a ridiculously hot girl with an Olivia Wilde look. Don't get me wrong... I'd jump on the the opportunity to, uh, jump Olivia Wilde, but I kind of feel like Clark was raised better than me and would focus more on personality than pants-tightening looks. :lol

Why would Super Man ever need armour?
You'll have to ask DC Comics that one, as BOTH the "New 52" books AND Man of Steel have revamped his costume's origin to make it KRYPTONIAN BATTLE ARMOR.

When seen in tight closeup (such as on the teaser poster that's been in theaters for a few months now) you can clearly see that the new costume is intended to be very fine Kryptonian chain-mail layered over a backing fabric.

His traditional longjohns appear to be the base layer of his father's Kryptonian battle armor. He seems to have had the sense (or need) to ditch the clunky armor parts while invulnerable under Earth's yellow sun.

I'm... uh. Not seeing it. I've seen Amy Adams in a lot of different roles. Some funny, some very dramatic, but nothing ever really screamed out Lois Lane. I hate to say it, but I'm getting a Kate Bosworth vibe.

Yeah. I really hope she proves us wrong, but I just don't see her as Lane.

Both her and Bosworth have the "hopeless romantic" vibe too close to the surface, no matter how tough they try to play it. Or maybe "Girl Next Door" vibe is more accurate.

That's what was great about Margot Kidder. She did a fantastic job of not only being a tough woman, but also laying on the tough a little "too" thick at times to mask her vulnerability. There was just so much charisma in that performance. She wasn't the most attractive girl in Metropolis, but you could still get why Clark/Supes was infatuated with her.

This Supes toy looks pretty top notch! I will totally buy this, Zod, and Jor-el which both will be released along side with Superman. I'll get the reg little supes figure only because I have the Green Lantern, and Batman ones. I wanna build a Justice League movie collection lol.

Those are some badass armors ! I love how Jor-el's one is more refined, elegant, it has a noble vibe while zod's armor gives a more ruthless vibe

This movie is probably my most anticipated of this year with Dead man stalking : riddick.
I hope they will make it with justice league as well. Though I don't know if Henry cavill will play a good Superman/clark Kent. He has a face of a bad guy. Didn't like his role in Immortals.

It really seems that they are trying very hard to hide some of the (perceived) flaws in this costume in most of the official pre-released images and even the trailer.

If the above image is a real, official image - notice they are hiding the lack of shorts, the costume looks much brighter than a lot of theother pics, the yellow in the 'S' is more prominent.

The cape has been the one constant: it's been amazing everywhere.

I always find it funny that good guys have to have armor/uniforms that makes you look like a good guy. I wonder if we're genetically encoded or just ridiculously conditioned to want heroes to look regal and refined and have bad guys look mean, icky and have lots of pointy, sharp angles on their outfits. :confused

I mean, bad guys can wear suits and elegant stuff too, but when a good guy wears some kind of demonic-like armor, it looks "wrong" on him/her.

- No fish hook hair in the forehead?
- No red pants?
- I though Jor-el was kinda more scientist than a warrior? So a scientist also need an armor?
- I tried a long and hard look when making the pattern, it didn't look like a chainmail to me. It is more like X (two crescent moon shape) with a cross-like shape in the middle. At the end it does give a chainmail look.
- IMHO, Superman costume need to be bright red, blue and yellow (Reeve's style). See the trend is getting darker with bigger S (Lois and Clark , Superman Returns and now this). So does the superhero movie trends: darker (storyline as well as color) and with armor. Yuck!

After a dissappointment from Superman Returns (returns from where? Krypton? without yellow sun?), hope this one is not another dissapointment.

Love Olivia Wilde, Lois or not Lois.
