Magneto and Mystique: First time post

Fantastic job, especially with all the little bits for Mystique. When I did my GF up as Mystique a couple years back, it was all we could do to just get the forehead done; everything else was textured tight clothing and a boatload of liquid latex, which didn't look half as accurate as what you guys did.

Not to take away from your Magneto, but that Mystique is simply aces.

I must say I like both outfits but you must admit that it is unfair that you have a cozy nice cloak and a helmet, while she has to poke herself in the eye (lenses) and wear.. well, nothing really. I think that next time, you should be mystique ;P

Thanks! Ya we considered doing liquid latex but wasn't convinced that it would appear the same as paint. This was an incredibly difficult costume, unless you used all the right materials and paints and all it just didn't turn out right. There is no shortcuts on this costume. :wacko

haha thats what she said. I felt bad for her when we had to walk outside to the car.

I don't know if I would make a good mystique, people would probably think I was an avatar or naked captain planet. ^_^

We competed in the Night of Killer Costumes Contest at the Moon nightclub at Palms Casino in Las Vegas, but we were very dissapointed with it. it was basically just a normal night club night with a 3 minute pause to announce the winners from secret judges. about 15 people were considered worthy to enter the contest but only 3 had any mention. We were both pissed, because it was basically our only night to rock that costume due to the insane amount of work to put it on. Both my girlfriend and I wrote letters to the Palms Nightclub vice-president telling him how dissapointed we were. The costumes that won were all 8 feet tall and had flashy lights on them. 1st was pretty sick. It was a bumblebee transformer that actually transformed. He deserved to win. 2nd place winner got booed from the crowd because they didn't think he should of won and 3rd place was a 8 foot tall devil. He also was in the wrong contest. the contest we were in was a sci-fi contest, he should of gone to the ghostbar club were they were having a demon and undead contest. The last time I checked, The devil isn't sci-fi. oh well.

The gf's mystique looks a lot better than the Xmen First Class "Giant forehead" version.

HAha Thanks!! She is pretty amazing!! She is 5'8" and all the prosthetics are tailored to her. So I don't know how selling it would work.

We both are jealous of your costume!! I don't think that anyone could pull off the rapunzel costume like you did.
