Unlimited Run MAD MAX fury road FACE MASK

Yeah I'd be cool with that!

How would everyone feel about a 3d printed painted mask instead of a casted version. I'm estimating 2 weeks to try and alter the 3d model so that it can be put together as a 3d print and not have to be molded or casted. My partner has the master print and the molding/casting materials for this mask, but he said he was running into problems when trying to mold, so I asked him to send me the master printed pieces, so I could try, but he hasn't yet. so instead of waiting more, I could try and focus the time on altering the 3d model so that it is easier to put together as 3d printed pieces...I would still be doing all the clean up work and painting before sending them out, but this seems like it could be an option if you guys are ok with it.

ok, I'm going to be working on the mad max 3d file altering it to be a 3d printed kit instead of resin. Hopefully I should have the file ready to begin printing by tomorrow and I can start getting you guys the kits!

Ok, I believe I'm done altering the 3D file, turning it into a 3D print kit instead of molded and resin casted. Running all the files through netfabb and slicing programs now to make sure there are no obvious issues. If there are no issues I will begin printing a mask tomorrow!

The kit, if all is well, will be 4 pieces.

1. the front trident
2. the jaw and nose area
3. the back neck strap
4. the back head strap

and then the bolts and stuff, but I've made it to where I think only the back head strap will need to be expoxy or glued, all the other pieces should be held together with the bolts and hinge pin.

you bet, I'm just as anxious to get this completed as you guys are. so far the front trident, back neck strap are printed, 50% done with the head strap now and then the jaw/nose piece...should be done late tonight or early tomorrow morning. I'll put it all together to do some test fitting and take some images to show you guys the main pieces of the mask with the newly altered 3D kit files.

I still need to remake the bolts to go in the holes.

Alright nice to hear this thing is comming along finally, for my use i dont need the bolts especially, i will use real ones for this.

hope to see pictures soon buddy!

Here is the altered 3D printable kit. 4 major pieces, and it fits pretty well...a tad big on me, but I have a small head like 22'' or so this mask should fit a 23-24'' head good especially if you use some thin foam padding on the inside of the neck and head strap.

It's possible yes. I'm printing more as we speak, and I'm sanding/painting the one that is already printed, so that when 1 is finished I can start sanding and painting the next one with no down time.

Ok, so I got all the hardware to attach the front trident to the facemask. It all fits well, works, and looks good. The hardware will be included in the kits. I will probably paint them gold to be more screen accurate, but this was just to make sure it all fit well and worked. I'm also going to be dirtying up the masks a bit to give it that more beat up metal look.

All the masks are printed out now. I have bondo and paint work to do on some of them still, but my goal is to have these ready to ship out within a week. A lot will depend on dry time of the paint, the paint I'm using stays tacky for about 2 days or so. Once I get 1 mask all put together and painted I'll post images.
