Has anyone been able to find a place that still carries the 5.11 Single Pistol Mag Pouch? They seem to be discontinued and the sites that still have them up are outdated and no longer available. I've called about 3 vendors and all have said "sorry, no longer available. The site has to be updated" :angry

No, it's been difficult. I ordered one from a site that said they were in stock but I haven't received it yet and can't get the company to write me back. That was a few weeks ago.

Might want to give them a call. They most likely no longer carry them unfortunately. My guess is to try a local store that carries tactical gear who might still have leftover stock.

Agreed. Except I think the strap on the black pouch is tucked in behind the mag and inside the pouch. The velcro is most completely removed like other one.

Yes, now that you told me, the velcro on the poouch is quite big, so they likely removed it. Otherwise it would be quite visible in the second picture.


As for the strap (the one with the little buckle), I think it´s still behind the pouch.

Yes, I believe so. I thought you meant the strap that velcros over the mag. The one you pointed out I'm pretty sure is indeed the mollle strap that has the loop buckle on the top which is covered in the photo.

I think that the vest velcro strap, as you say, is tucked in behind the mag and inside the pouch, but under the front flap.

I think he might use a Beretta considering non of the pistol mags on the vest are for Glocks. The one photo that kinda shows the handle and butt of the gun doesn't appear to be from a Glock either. Even though he's using a Glock in the trailer it could just be one he picked up from someone else, but honesty we can't be sure either way what gun is in the holster until we get better pictures. At least we know it's a Condor holster though. Even though they make a specific holster for each I think either gun might be able to fit.

The pouch those mags go in have to be altered. Still trying to figure out how arlo did it but I'm sure the pouch stays in the same spot, just cut and stitch to fit the 2 mags.

Interesting. I thought that pouched looked a little shallow.

Forgot to add a picture but you can see a seam here for the HK mag pouch.

Not sure about mounting anything yet. Still want to be sure how everything goes together first. If you look closely at the pictures arlo posted though you could almost make out what I think is black stitching knotted together for the linked rounds.

Great stuff coming in everyone! I'm really appreciating how the components are finally being broken down. I came across another picture from a French magazine that has a pretty good shot of the Condor holder. It def look very modded. I'm not too sure what if any parts were adapted from the battle vest. Sorry for the small pic sizes - select the individual pics to see larger versions.



Here is the larger picture - BTW - does anyone know if Max has a belt on his pants that this attaches to? As I recall in MM and MM2 his leather MFP pants had no belt loops.



Has anyone tried fraying or distressing or dying any of this Molle-type gear? It's pretty rugged stuff. I think the key to a good FR costume is gonna be properly weathering it. Max's Jacket almost matches the nutria brown of the Battle vest - a black leather jack is definitely gonna have to be dyed or distressed significantly.

Maybe someone can direct us to some info on distressing and dying leather? Aldo? Any insights?

Thanks for the pic. Haven't seen that one. You have to take into consideration that most of all the pictures being released have filters on them throwing the colors off, so most of the colors being displayed aren't accurate. The trailers give you a better idea as everything appears more vibrant. As for weathering, that's going to be the last thing I do. I want to collect everything and figure out how it's all attached before I start altering.

The picture you posted is great, and very ilustrative.
I first thought from smaller pictures that the little pouch beside the holster was the same that the holster came with,
but in that picture you can see that it´s not; not the 5.11 either since it has an elastic strap in a different height.
The holster it´s not modified, just removed the front pouch.

I weathered my Royce vest/holster molle using very coarse sandpaper, specially on the strap edges.


PS: Now I´m quite conviced the little pouch beside the holder is this older Condor pouch, with buckle cut off and removed/cut front cover flap.

That could be it, augofett. At first I thought it was just the Condor MA32 but in the picture there is more spacing between the wider elastic strap and pouch. The one you posted the spacing matches up.

Do you guys agree that the gun holster and leg platform are black and the side pouch tan? The filtered photos throw them off a bit but I put this together to compare.
