Limited Run === Luke's Lightsaber : THE LAST JEDI === NOW SHIPPING!!!

Good question. The revised plate would need to fit accurate arrows that are available... Ive read somewhere that the correct ones would be 5mm on each side? Anyone?

EDIT: lol forget it, someone posted above that the correct length for the sides of the triangles would be 11/64’’. That’s a tad over 4mm, if i’m not mistaken.

Do you remember how this size was confirmed?

From what I can tel, there isn’t a currently available chassis that will work with this. The grenade section of the inception appears to be too wide for this one.

goth 3d design has many different "standard" chassis that only hold electronics, no crystal chamber. i would wait, i heard rumors hes working on one as we speak

Goth3D has a chassis for this slated on his “to do list” on his webpage along with several other projects like Rudy’s V3 and probably soon anakin starkiller’s newest V2. We’d have to wait for him to literally have the item in hand before he can make sense of this project.... no one has come forward either (including Roman) saying if the specific IDs of the saber are similar to any pre-existing chassis kit.

For anyone looking for more accurate triangle LEDs and has the ability to 3D print them you can use this STL. This is designed to let the triangle extrude from the cutout by 2mm. The triangle has a circular backing that should sit flush with the inside wall of the control box. Because the screw holes are so close to where the drill hole needs to be a made it just large enough to enclose the triangle.

If printed in translucent filament like PETG you can illuminate the triangle using any white LED from inside the control box.

Here is the STL: https://www.dropbox.com/s/24nyxsuegzkteg8/Control Box LEDs v1.stl?dl=0

Let's remember this is the RPF, not Facebook.

I don't mind anyone saying the triangles can be improved, but I'd love to see some better pictures to back it up and maybe some actual numbers/sizes. Let's get some good info going, not just "I heard".

As far as a chassis, this is not something I keep up with. I'm not up to speed on the Goth designs, and don't really have the time to check on the various designs to see what would work. Not to mention there are different set ups as well. Please don't leave that up to me. Once someone does an install hopefully they will share what they used and why. .. again, this is the RPF where people share info (and do research). :)

That's a good point. However, reading what was "promised" about the run, if the info wasn't available about the TFA/TLJ saber, it was supposed to use the ROTJ hero (specifically the "cave build") instead.

Keeping that in mind, the arrows don't represent the arrows of the ROTJ hero. And since we barely see the arrows of either the TFA or the TLJ on screen, it's certainly not using those either.

Personally I'm not an expert of the ROTJ hero and don't know any sources for measurements, but the difference between your arrows and those on the ROTJ can be seen at first glance. I think that's what we are talking about when we say that the triangles can be improved, nothing more.

Actually, to my eye, the arrow placement looks dead on to the cave scene.

i don’t think anyone is knocking the replica at all. In fact, the fact that the arrow plate is removable makes it perfect for future mods, pending higher definition images of the screen used prop. The triangle size and placement discussion is mostly in the spoiler thread in the Star Wars section. It appears they are larger and closer together based on the behind the scenes image. But this cannot be confirmed for tlj.

as for the chassis, I just wanted to put it out there for others buying your replica who intend to do an install. I figured it might be an important for people to stay up to date on the install options as they purchase and receive the replica.

overall I am thrilled with the item! It is gorgeous and I’ve been having a blast showing it off.

I don't mean to argue, but the placement doesn't look a little bit off to you? Keep in mind that I don't have Roman's in my hands right now. But the arrows look too far apart, and a tad too small.

As long as this Roman saber is not intended to be a ROTJ replica, the control box is different from the ROTJ/cave one. Distances and proportions are different, and not only in the control box.
The closest saber to date is Anakin Starkiller´s Hero, But is a static prop.
Here is mine with a custom control box i built.

Either way, the part is removable. If there is something off about it, it can easily be corrected. No point in making a big stink about it here.

You said that it was spot-on, I posted a pic of the original prop, which show that it isn't. No one is making a stink about it, as far as I'm concerned. I just pointed out the facts.

It looked spot on to me based on watching the deleted scene. Then again, it's very hard to tell due to the quality.

Once again, either way, because I don't really feel like arguing about this, it doesn't matter because it can easily be replaced.
