Interest Luke v2 Lightsaber. Unibody design

I'm not sure tape is used to cover the graflex logo. I could be wrong, however all the builds I have seen don't show a covered logo.it's covered on the esb version and tfa.

I see some cover the V2 with tape. I'm going to use one of Roman's non-logo clamps

I'm not going to cover the graflex logo on mine. I didn't think the logo was covered originally but I could be wrong and if I am wrong it will be the first time this year hahaha...I do have a no logo clamp but that is going on my TFA hilt

it can get confusing, when we refer to covering the v2 with tape. people may be referring to the emitter's neck. the v2 originally had a spinning emitter, they ditched the spinning blade setup for the rest of the movies but used the V2 for a lot of the sword fighting scenes still. in order to keep the emitter from spinning they used a piece of black gaffers tape.

Why cover the logo? :confused
Some may want to cover the logo because an in universe item would not have English text on it.

I assume it wasn't covered on the prop because they didn't think anyone would get a good enough look at it to see the text.

There are other examples of the clamp text being covered on the props.

If you want to cover the logo it's up to you. You can buy metal foil tape at lowes or home depot in the areas they sell air conditioning duct work. Just get the blank no lettering kind

I myself choose not to cover the logo.

I had originally thought that because of the Parts of Star Wars site, there was a strip of tape on the clamp of the V2. Then, I found a post here on the RPF (http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=1862&page=36 post #895 by Kurtyboy) that explains what was thought as a strip of tape was actually a video artifact from the days before HD.

So, two things:

1. Sorry to you all that I opened a can of worms that wasn't necessary.

2. Might as well get me a logo-less clamp from Roman. I feel like I should just mail him my next couple paychecks now that he might do an MPP.

Does anyone know if Roy will be offering his Graflex clamp levers again?

I sent an e-mail to Roy inquiring about the levers and letting him know about this thread.

I will be offering brand new clamp levers soon. A new batch is currently in production. ETA is somewhere in February.
@Anakin Starkiller Still a chance I can get in on this run? :)

Right, it wasn´t covered on the prop.
It's basically a choice of recreating the prop or something more like what Luke may have actually used. Similar to cleaning up lumps or other issues with some of the helmets. Some like all of the flaws and others don't.

I know that.

When asking it the postings made me think people are believing it had to be done with some sort of tape, not due to personal preferencies but due to being accurate with it.

That´s what made me wonder.
