You just have to futz with the clamp a bit to open it over the middle section. The shape of it will go around the middle of the hilt. Not too difficult.

That was my original thought however, I'm concerned about flaking on the clamp finish as well as my finished paint job. I was wondering if it would be possible to cut off the pommel, tap it both sections and using all thread or threaded rod to reattach

you mean the mystery chunk location?

That as well as other set screws. I noticed there are a couple different locations. Looks like there is a set screw at the areas where body parts come together.

I bought mine over a month ago when he just got them back in. I did see an unknown time frame on restocking them but I'm sure he will get them back. Did you send him an email?

As long as it's 1/2" you should be good. Roy also sells strips of this tape.
