I finally got time to send out tracking info. So, if your kit shipped, you should have an e-mail with tracking in your inbox.

The set screws should hold it firmly. But, I didn't want the tolerances to be too tight and have parts get snagged.

Aahhh! This explains the email lol I was like “yahoo is a few days too late, server must have had a hiccup” ;)

Mine wiggles along the axis of the screws a little bit but not too much, and there's less wiggle if I back them out a bit. So, protip to anyone seeing a little wiggle in the plug: back those long screws out some. Alternatively, turn the plug and have them press against the plug, rather than screw into it. I almost did that anyway since I was having some trouble getting the second one lined up

Is anyone else going to attempt to make a V3 out of their kit? I'm planning to make one of these beauties into a V3. Would anyone know of where to start for the V3 or resources to help accomplish this? Is anyone planning to do a video or picture tutorial of the conversion? Thanks!

I'm guessing I'll need a Graflex clamp with or without letters and extra holes drilled into it. I'll also need a Slothfurnace or similar, V3 Graflex clamp circuit card with wide copper strips on black or dark green PCB.

Any other suggestions are welcome!

Thanks again!

Got mine a couple days ago and it's beautiful.

Granted, my romans clamp is somehow too small and I've been sanding the body for ages. I also broke two taps while trying to add a set screw to the windvane, so those are in there permanantly, and I'm in a bad mood. I can probably JB weld over it and just tap a set screw on the other side but ***** Im off too a bad start.

This is going to be a Shared Stunt and will be another pride of my collection, I showed it off at work and people were stunned.

I am in the works as we speak on a V3 tutorial, how to install and locate the screws so on and so on

But I’m having a problem locating some screws for size comparison. I also want to run a few things by dan before I publish the write up

It’s on its way, it will probably be up by next weekend

Please be patient, I promise it’s in the works

;)

Guys I found the screws I needed. Have them ordered. Once they come in I’m sending dan some pics and see what he thinks, progress is good so far!

got my clamp on there! Yes I'm turning mine into a shared stunt too. Gonna add a set screw to the windvane and then darken the metal. I can't decide if I wan the neck copper or dark brass. I'm going to blacken the emitter and use chrome tape thats for sure

Since I completed a V3 “Post Production” look with my Spirit of Obi-Wan build, I’ll be attempting a V3 that is the “Production Version” with this build.

If any of you have great pics of the V3 PRIOR to it’s post production repaint, it would be great to see them posted here.

Thanks!

I don’t know how much of the most recent run of V2 stencils could be used as that would just render a V2 that is missing the emitter nub.

These will most likely need to be a more manual weathering process regarding the paint. Now, if anyone retained the stencils from the first 2 of the 3 piece saber runs, those are just different enough that perhaps those could be used as a V3 stencil? I plan on using some of them.

The booster on the V3 appears to have been much more devoid of paint compared to the V2, from what can be gleaned from the poor quality stills.

For the clamp card, I think I’ll pick up one of Slothfurnace’s vintage style ESB cards.

Was just thinking that! Wonder how far the stencils will get us, so..? Hmmm!
