LOST - the unanswered questions thread (SPOILER discussion)

Yeah, me too. I miss watching and discussing. I watched some bloopers on youtube just a few hours ago.

My Wife is watching the entire series right now from the beginning (she never saw it before) on Netflix, I'm enjoying watching it too, picking up so Much more then I had the first couple of times :)

I recently saw the season one ep where Jack says to Kate "We're going to have a Locke problem. I need to know if you have my back".

now knowing what went down on the cliff in the finale...so cool.

Oh man, you guys... I really have to buy this series. How to justify it.

I need something to watch while working out. There we go. :lol

I just finished season 2 again yesterday. It's become very apparent to me that seasons 2 and 3 were just there to kill time until they had a set end date.

Also, the whole "others" thing gets confused a lot, but I think it's mainly because the Jacob Ben had always spoken to was actually MIB, AND Ben had the ulterior motives to get his spine surgery. So everybody got a lot of mixed messages. The stupid part is that all the problems would have been solved if the real Jacob had just appeared and been straight with everybody right from the beginning. Instead we got the wonderful "gift" of Lost season 3, which made everyone I know stop watching the show completely.

I was a hard core fan of LOST - I hung by EVERY episode through the fifth season. When the ISLAND took a turn for the Everyone is DEAD and this is purgatory until you can put your sole to rest before you move on to heaven, hell, or your final destination - they betrayed everything the producers promised fans during the first season. Did they forget saying "No they are not dead - this is NOT purgatory." :cry

I bought all the DVD's - won't bother with the Last season.

BETTER ENDING:

This is the ISLAND of the MISFIT toys. Are you alone? Don't fit in anywhere else in the world - well - the ISLAND is made for you. The Creator made a PLACE for everyone in the world - not just the pretty people, the well adjusted, the rich, the powerful.

The Island takes in the LOST souls. The OTHERS were a band of misfits that needed a purpose, a cause, and banded together to become a powerful force. They had a world wide network of real power brokers, clerks, technicians, the ones who make the world work.

The MAGIC was merely the unique properties of the island exploited by the DHARMA intiative - (Did we FORGET that story somewhere?) You could explain every question to include the dead not being able to leave the island because their souls were traped by the Casimir Effect. Oh well ... I could go on for days. :angry

All I can say about the last season is ERASE ERASE ERASE !!! :thumbsdown

:confused

Jacob never spoke to Ben in seasons 2 and 3; he always got instructions through Richard.

This is one of the reasons I want to rewatch.

Ben Linus has become one of my favorite, if not my most favorite character on Lost - I want to understand more of his story and how/if he was duped. Did Richard lie to him? Did Jacob really use him as bad as they made it out?

Or was he a pawn that MIB and Jacob fought over to try to turn one way or another?

I really want to like Jacob, and I think I could forgive everything he did to everyone, except Ben.

Harada - They weren't all dead on the island, this has been explained many times, including in the show itself.

Hm, yea that's right, Richard was giving Ben instructions, but Ben also knew about the cabin, and MIB was the one in that cabin. But then, Ben said Jacob (in the cabin) never actually spoke to him, so I think it's safe to say that was a pretty big plot hole. I don't think Richard ever lied to Ben, he knew who Jacob was the whole time and until season 6 he followed all of his orders to the letter and seemed pretty happy to do it.

I'm always surprised by the lack of love for season 3. Sure, it begins a little cage-y, but the last 2/3rds are solid, flashes before your eyes, greatest hits are some of the best eps - the season 3 finale was badass.

its my 2nd favorite season after season 1.

I liked the last few episodes of season 3, the ones focusing on Charlie and Desmond, but didn't like any of the other ones. I'll start in on season 3 again in a couple days, then I'll be able to reevaluate it.

I don't get why Season Three gets no love, either. The Others made Sawyer and Kate build the runway Lapidus landed the Ajira flight on! Season Four with the freighter stuff and Season Five with our guys in Dharma are my favorites, though, because I love crazy mercenary action and time travel.

My question would be if getting to close to the light 'smokifies' you, how'd they get enough egyptians into the cave to build all the stuff around it?

It could be that the smoke monster was in there and was somehow liberated by MIB's body coming in (maybe because he was "special" it took on part of him). With Jacob finding his body on the "other side" it could be that smokie could take the form of the dead. We always see him as MIB because that's how he appeared to Jacob.

:lol I love those kinds of pictures. That one's right up there with "Hey Heath, have you seen Dark Knight yet?"
