Lost season 6 with spoilers beware

Libby was there.

In my narrative, Hurley and Ben served the Island for hundreds if not thousands of years. I don't need to be told what happened. I love writing it in my head. the way i wrote the clone Wars in my head for 20+ years before I was told how it went down.

"You were a great number two."
"And you were a great number one."

loved it.

Anyone think that Sawyer unplugging the machine to get the candy to drop mirrors what had to happen at the source of the island? Or just coincidence?

Also, Juliette came upon him reaching into the machine to get a snack, just like when he was reaching up into his cage's machine to get a polar bear fish treat!

Would those of you who were unhappy with the ending (or at least the last half hour, like me) have been happy if the alt timeline had been a real alternative universe for our Losties to populate as they were awakened, thus being rescued from the island with their lessons learned? I would have loved that, despite the abundance of loose threads dangling back in the island story.

You know...I would honestly have to say yes to that question. I would have enjoyed that so much more than all the "you've been dead this season" stuff...

Libby was there for the same reason Penny was there. For their love of Hugo and Desmond. The had strong personal connections.

"haven't died yet" isn't possible. There is no YET. YET suggests that there is time where they were, and there is no time there.

"Haven't died yet" in real life. There is no YET for those who have already died. When Jack dies IRL, he met up with those in the church so they could "move on". Other characters just haven't died yet. There is still time for the living.

I'm pretty sure Libby was seated next to Hurley in the church at the end. It was a VERY quick shot, but it looked like her.

Libby was there for sure.

No that scene mirrors when Juliet said "it worked" as she died in Sawyer's arms on the island. It was bleed through from purgatory and she was talking to purgatory Sawyer.
No i think hes right. The island was unplugged then plugged back in to basically resolve the issue of smokie. I interpreted it that it was the reason Jacob had desmond brought to the island the last time.

You're forgetting - Kate and Claire and Ben and Hurley all lived longer than Jack - perhaps much longer. There is no "yet."

Lapidas Miles and Richard didn't need to be part of that group to move on. They'll probably have their own move on ceremony at some other point.

Rose and Bernard question...you're thinking linearly. The "flash-sideways" has no time. Therefore, Rose and Bernard got there after they died, period.

As for Ana Lucia and Libby, my theory is that there would be another "tail section" move on ceremony with Mr. Eko and others.

Don't you mean the "we got in trouble in REAL life" storyline?:lol

We'll, of course it has a literal tie to the reality in the fact of that was the moment of Juliet's death, but I think the actual act of "unplugging the machine" says something to what Desmond and Jack did with the plug in the source.

It's a TV show that had writers/creators that had no idea where they were taking the story lines, so NOTHING made sense. THAT IS ALL!

Ok a few thoughts:

**I'm pretty sure that "flash sideways" is a fan term. We assumed that this was an alternate timeline when it was actually their afterlife. We were tricked! Happens all the time. :D

**Faraday's mom didn't want Desmond to take Daniel with him, because she didn't want to lose her son again. Her construct included being able to be a good mom to him and be part of his life (this assumes that the construct is a shared construct and not one solely created for the Losties).

**The Aaron that we saw being born was born in the construct and not necessarily the real Aaron who may have had his own people in his construct.

**For those who wanted more stuff explained: Did you leave the theater saying "But they didn't explain HOW the flux capacitor enabled time travel!" or "They never explained HOW the Zoltron machine made Tom Hanks Big!".

Bottom line is that the Island was a "magical place" where time travel was possible, people like Richard & Jacob could live a very long time, and where the mysterious light of the afterlife was being kept in a cave.

Personally, I'd have liked a little more explanation of who built the cave and the plug that keeps the light going, because that room wasn't a natural occurrance, but I'll just have to write my own ending on that one.

The producers called it a "flash sideways" too, from when the season started right up to the series recap before the finalé.

Now a few questions:

** Do you think Jacob was the one not allowing babies to be born on the island? Maybe he didn't like what happened to him and Smokey, so he prevented it while he was in power? I'd bet that Hurley would run things differently as Ben alluded to.

** Do you think the "light room" in the cave with the plug in the pool, was built by the same people that built the statue of Tarweet?

** Why did Ben stay out?

Whew, thank you. Now I can go back to being a passive lump with no desire for connection or interaction.

The producers had a habit of adopting fan terms. Even so, I see nothing wrong with flash sideways, because it is appropriate. It can't be forward or back. If something always exists and has no time, then I suppose it can be alongside something. This just isn't a point I would waste time disecting. They could call it "flash-dance" and that wouldn't change what it is.
