Well to be honest the one thing I've learnt whilst making this jacket and then collecting items to make a movie accurate jacket is that its all random. The pricing for the tapestries really depends on how bad the collector wants it. When I first started collecting that chariot lady was extremely rare and didn't surface for years and recently in the past 2 years I've seen it pop up many times (about 5-9 on various sites) that you can probably grab one around 200-400 USD, however, some sellers reverse the image and find old listing at high value which they list them for high prices. I had 2 chariots and a tapestry collector (not lost boys related) offered me 675 because of how that previously 675 sold so they tend to hold there value mainly based on rarity, if you are a die hard collector you'll more than likely obtain one if the price is about 400 usd or under as there is competition collecting the items. If you look at the 675 one 14 people were watching it, thats a baseline for competition. Its that sense of "how long until the next one appears? And at an affordable price?". The cleo is still the rare amongst tapestries, the latest one I got was at 500 usd, the seller listed it at 1k so some sellers know what they have but paying high cost to obtain an item is somewhat fine if its saving an extreme amount of time searching daily for these (for me at least). For sure collectors can just recreate the items at a budget but IMO all the jackets start to look the same at a certain point because of replica patches and printed tapestries, once you start to find the rarer patches you see the jacket become more accurate, but at the end of the day this project is based on pricing and randomness and how accurate you want it. I've seen patches extremely cheap and I've seen some at 350+ USD, but how I price items is, would I be willing to work a day to 3 days to purchase an item? Yeah for sure because the time invested looking for them out weighs the cost, if the price is higher the competition is reduced and at least for me is stops the "when will the next opportunity appear?" especially as these jackets are ones that ill keep for life so if it reduces searching daily for an hour or more then great though im probably mad but thats the position im in at the moment and these jackets are the sole project I'm working on right now but I guess it just really comes down to how accurate you want the jacket to be, if you are wanting a true accurate jacket but on a budget it's possible though there is more competition but when there are rarer items you can expect the pricing to increase. I haven't put mine together yet (movie accurate version) but for sure you can find them as you go and in time you can save but I would say for the 3 velvet plush tapestries then replica patches and prints you'll be looking at 600USD or under, as you go more accurate its probably 600+ again depending on a few factors. There is a bit of luck finding the patches but its mainly due to sheer dedication searching through multiple avenues per day. I've been in lots of situations when an item pops and I get it only for another that pops a few weeks after but again its that 'when will the next appear, or if' for me at least with this project

haha me too. ive hunted out many an authentic patch for others. However, the rarest item out there is Markos boots. who the hell knows whats painted on those things. Somebody, somewhere must know...

The toes are scallops or flames. The leg part I personally think it's Native American art or some type of Western cowboy designs. It's probably a custom deal, alot of cowboy boots are. I'd just be happy if we had good pictures to go by.

Oh its definitely custom. I think its scalloped rather than flames and native american design above that... but as you say with no decent pictures the detail is just next to impossible to work out. Id be happy with one decent picture and a brand and model name of the boots.

I'd love to ask Alex Winter, but he doesn't seem to have a clear recollection of such things.
He was an aspiring film Director/ Producer and I think he was too focused on the "production" aspect of making the film, rather than it's wardrobe.

I had a running theory that these are a pair of Harley Davidson boots given the running motif of the jacket. looking a little closer they remind me of the traditionally made boots from México which has intricate design like these from what I can make out. Given the movie is set in California, it would make sense. I plan to go see if I can find a similar pair when I go visit my family in Mex soon.

Yeah his determination to get the boys some lines led to a standoff between him and Joel whilst filming the bridge scene. Think he was secretly directing the movie in his head most of the time ha ha!
He hung around after his parts were done, no doubt to take in everything about production that he could. If only there were some production stills or something that showed them.
Seems we'll have to go with best approximation for now. Mind you 5 years ago we didnt have the information we have now about the Jacket so there's some hope there.

Absolutely ridiculous asking price, but they are taking offers. I don't get where people get these prices. I've never seen anyone pay more than around $150 topps. Average price is $50-100. If someone is interested, maybe offer them $100, but I wouldn't pay more than $150 because another one will come along sooner or later. They always do.

I think they've taken inspiration from traditional mexican boots and painted the design on a pair of Fryes Engineer boots the heel looks distinctly vintage Fryes. Harley is also a possibility but from my research the shape looks more Fryes for me.
However nobody bloody knows could be completely wrong, the stills is a great shout though. i'll check them out in detail later see if i can see a tell tale mark the sole looks promising on one still.

It looks like the same person who's trying to sell that infamous Lost Boys jacket. I'd be the first to say it's fishy but they have had their eBay account for awhile, and have good feedback. I don't think it's the original seller of that jacket, either they bought it and are now selling it, or they're selling for the original seller. I don't know, it's all kind of weird. And their asking price for the tapestry is laughable. It's not even completely correct anyway, it has a brown bottom instead of the correct green. Honestly it wouldn't be that noticeable though, and for the right price it would be a suitable piece. As I said before, I personally wouldn't pay much more than $100 for it.
