lost boys MARKO jacket replica!

V3.0 starts... I'm making it an XL so it won't be 100% movie accurate. The original was an a medium.

So...I purchased two of those "boyfriend" jackets in an XS and S ladies. The shoulders and arms a still a little big on both jackets. The only difference is the XS is a a little snugger on the hips. The question is for those who made this or still in the process of completing this jacket is that did you buy one true to size or kept the shoulder area a little loose because of the weight of the material? Sorry if I asked this before.

My base jacket is a men's M. Alex Winter isn't exactly a large dude! I was less concerned about the weight of the materials and more concerned about my ability to lay the patches out correctly. If I remember correctly, you're kind of little right? That was why you wanted a smaller jacket?

The weight of the materials will make the jacket much stiffer, so it's nice to have more wiggle room. Of the two, I would probably go with the S rather than the XS. Extra shoulder room will probably be a blessing.

Yes. Quite petite. Small around the shoulders and arms too. I was thinking about the wiggle room and how stiff and tight the tapestries will make it feel.
I didn't take photos of both jackets on at the store but was pleasantly surprised that they were marked down to $10.00 each from $19.99 reduced from $65.00. So I bought two just in case.

I made another jacket where I added extra material and it was tight fitting in the end because I bought a small cropped jacket. It came out nice though.

Any suggestions on how to pop the buttons from your base?
Heavy duty wire cutters. Do it from the front botton side, not the back rivet side. Get as close to the jacket as possible without cutting the jacket. Squeeze hard and they should pop off without too much hassle. Since your jacket is small you won't need to cut off the cuff and bottom of the jacket like the movie version. However, if you decide to remove the pockets to make it easier to sew the patches on, DO NOT cut any seems otherwise your jacket will fall apart. Just remove material only NO seems. Message me if you need further assistance. Merry Christmas.

Thanks. The cuffs and bottom have buttons. Sleeves are huge on me. Tried to shrink it in the wash but not much difference. Have a great Christmas as well! I may have to send you some bothersome pms during the holidays or it can wait during the new year.
