lost boys MARKO jacket replica!

Yes I've already bought the peacock, but as per one of your last comments (could have been someone else's,) if they had known about Contrado earlier, they would have preferred printing instead of cutting up the rare tapestries. I was going off of this idea because I also have that preference.
I have been looking for a month now which I know is early in the process so I know i've got time before anything else pops up.
Ive gone through similar projects and certainly have the patience. Thanks!
The tapestries are not rare artifacts. Find them, buy them, and cut them up.

Just keep hunting on Facebook marketplace and eBay and stuff. I felt the same and feel the same about the tapestries. But most people don't care to sell them or have been letting them rot away somewhere before cleaning their attic out. It gives them a second life. It made me not feel as bad about it.
Will do. I appreciate your point of view on the topic.

I also search on etsy and poshmark

So I've had a lot of people ask me about cut patterns for the tapestries. The Leopard is always the same, but the Peacock and Matador is different depending on the different directions being a Hero or Stunt jacket. Here's a rough idea of what I have come up with. Now I don't claim to be an expert but I'm fairly sure this is the general rough outline of the pieces. Before cutting, layout your cut lines with 1/4" painters tape and double check your measurements. Also note this is a cut pattern for a mens size medium which is what the movie used jacket was. If you are doing a different size jacket you will need to consider making cut adjustments accordingly.
It's also note worthy that the direction of the bull is actually the same on the Stunt and Hero which would necessitate buying both direction tapestries if your doing a Stunt version. I lined it out anyway in case someone didn't want to buy both and just use the bull facing the wrong way, because honestly nobody is gonna notice anyway. I've seen people also use a Leopard tapestry facing the wrong way and it works fine, it's not accurate, but it works.

I have a question about the peacock stunt piece that goes on the sleeve. Can I dm you or post my question here? Hard to see placement on the actual jacket which is all tattered in another post. Can't zoom in either.

Anybody else see this? This guy owns all LB prop jackets. One of Alex's jackets is at the 21:00 mark.

I helped him with some minor restoration of the Paul jacket by providing him with some missing pieces. This has already been posted.

I bought it on 4k months ago, and that was what prompted me to make the jacket. It was great in 4k!
I noted the richer colors; resolution was good but not mind-blowing.

But hard to really weigh 4k merits on less than a 100” screen (mine is 75”).

I listened to Schumacher’s commentary; pretty good…!

I’ve photographed many of the locations, including Pogonip, but still haven’t found Maxes house.

I recently started to be able to get the lures made for the jacket, because nothing else seemed close. I am currently on the 3rd version of testing the lures out. The last bottom picture is version 3 of the lures. I'm going to also try redoing the eyes for the lures, but that is another process. I'm going to be testing another batch out of the orange and blue lures with a different fleck sparkle inside and altering the colors of the orange as well. If you are interested in a set PM me! Thanks.

It's my understanding Max's house was structuraly damaged in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake and had to be demolished.

Three down, one to go...
I used a morning coat that was almost 100 years old as a base jacket. Honestly I felt a little bad cutting it up but I thought the age of the jacket was appropriate for the piece. It's not 100% accurate, but I think I got it pretty close. The correct leather parts proved to be rather hard to find. Big thanks to LostNSantaCarla for help with the project, Jen you're the best.

Looks amazing! I'm currently almost done for Pauls jacket, do you know the base leather jacket? I got Davids done, hes coming to UK so I'm making a B-line to obtain his signature for the jacket. I think I've got a orange blue squid lure but it was part of a package and the seller wasn't really helpful, so just bought it on the hopes its correct I'll upload a photo once it arrives

I've been making some lures to go along with the jacket. I want to see your lure that you got though.

Just coming in here to say that this whole Marko's jacket thread is the absolute best, and it's been absolutely integral to me starting a non-canon jacket inspired/based on/approximal to the OG, especially the Contrado printing files & fabric types. Seriously, this is the MOST well researched thread on these LB jackets and I'm so pleased to see it's still going - I've been obsessed with this thing since I was a little ghoulie and ya'll are just incredible folks. Thank you for these resources, this research, your time, sharing and amazing energy! <3 (also Alex Winter is on Bluesky now and he's absolutely amazing & still creating films, I'd give his account a follow if you're on there!)
(ps - i have so far acquired tapestries, patches, lures, and a base jacket!)

I'm back again, because I got the Lost Boy's book by Paul Davis. It has some really amazing anecdotes about the making of the film, but also parts that I think would be a helpful contribution to this thread (I hope! I went through all the other posts to make sure I wasn't mentioning things already said... but I may be... if so, deepest apologies!)

From this page in particular: David's buttons are all watch-faces!

Billy's jacket was distressed in a similar way that I distressed some of my clothes for Wasteland Weekend: drive them behind a car! In this case, a motorcycle...

Laddie's jacket was bell-hop in style in reference to the hotel falling into the crack, which is so splendid. And Michael's sunglasses were from LA Eyeworks:

Anyway, some neat anecdotes from this book! They cover a whole lot of the "making-of" but this is the primary part dealing with the costuming/jackets :)
