Lindberg Models - 1/1 scale pirate gun kits

I was at my local hobby store and saw 1/1 model pirate pistols made by Lindberg models. I think they are flintlock kits originally issued in the '60's repackaged as pirate pistols. Regardless they looked pretty nifty so I thought I would mention it for those of you on a budget. They looked okay at $18. There are 4 types to choose from.

Here's a picture of the kits from their catalog.

I've never been very impressed by their quality but I'm interested in the kits. If somone builds 'em, please post pics.

I've got the topmost pistol, but mine was made by Pyro, somewheres in the late 60's IIRC; I've got the box top around here someplace...

Still a WIP; I didn't care for the "Ivory" look it was supposed to have on the box art, so I went with wood and silver with gold accents (gold bits pending)...

Yep, pretty much...

Except after 35 or so years, the styrene has kind of taken on the properties of a resin kit; meaning, styrene that would have had a good deal of flex back in 1967 now will crack horribly if you even think about coercing parts more than they want to go on their own...

Those look like the pistol that the elder Predator in Predator 2 gave to Danny Glovers character.
Yes, I know it too was a flintlock, I mean that the styles look similar.

You can always ask them to order them. My old hobby shops were always accomodating. Remember, they want you as a customer.

Not this HB, they don't special order anything.
I should know, I worked there years ago.:cry

But there is a local Mom & Pop run outfit, but they take forever to get special order items in.

Does it look like it can be made to look good?

I opened it up this morning, and it actually looks pretty decent.

Fill it with resin for some solidity and weight, get a good wood tone paint job on there, and some Alclad for the metal parts, and you're good...

I was searching for more sites to buy these kits and ran across a site called HobbySurplus.com and it seems that there are 8 different Pirate pistols available. They are selling for $14.49 + shipping!
