Life Size Keaton Batman 1989 AND now Nicholson Joker Last Page!

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

Dude, when you're done with Batman, had you considered doing a Reeve Superman 1978 to go along next to him?(y)thumbsup

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

Superman would be killer, but my attention is on my 1:1 Nicholson Joker. Right now, I am using a Mike Hilll bust for the head, but it is slightly too small.

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

Actually, here he is. He has undergone a complete overhaul with more accurate pants, a vest being made by Magnoli, and a jacket being made by Hello Cosplay. Hopefully they will arrive soon.

I am also working on replacing the head.

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

You're doing a great job :) That's always been my favorite live-action Batman costume (although I'm not a fan of the film itself), it's pretty much Neal Adams' Batman in black latex. When you're done, I'd love to see some shots in a darker room, the atmosphere would complement the piece well.

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

TGG, dd you get the cape sorted yet? Also what gloves does he have?

Im so glad you replaced some of the stuff, he looks amazing now!!

Also, what head are you getting for the Joker? there are some great 3/4 lifecast on the Bay of Nicholson with and without the makeup. would need some sculpting, but everything essential is there.

Up date us mate. when the cape goes on, can you take a full on front view for us please?????

I really want my own now :(

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

Hey W, thanks for the kind words, they mean a lot.

Cape was shipped, so I'm hoping it arrives in the next few days. When it arrives I promise to post some pics!

Now about the Joker. I'll give you a sneak peak. I have days of work left but it's coming along.

The eyebrows you see later are just drawn with a sharpie because I was bored as his head was drying. Still have a lot to go to make him heavier and plan on fattening the torso.

I am currently looking for ears and hair for him.

My one regret is that I used these pics as a reference when I sculpted the eyes:

I always loved that pose, with the wide open eyes, but I think this look may have been a bit more Jack:

What do you guys think?

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

The lifecast of Nicholson as the Joker is excellent.:thumbsup

If this was my display I would cut off the ears & build up the sides of the head so that the ears are visible from the front.

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

Thanks MB. Actually he has no ears yet. :lol

I either have to sculpt them or steal them from another life cast.

This LC was only of the face. I did exactly what you said already and filled in the mannequins ears. So Jokers cheeks are now flush.

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

Purchase a mannequin head with very well detailed ears & cut the ears off or you could try sculpting them yourself.

Ears are tricky to sculpt.

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

I'm going to see if the haunted studios would just cast me a pair of Nicholson ears. I'll let you know!

Also, W, not sure on the gloves, they came as a perk with the suit I bought. Similar to the eBay motorcycle pair I think.

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

Awsome TGG! Im pretty sure they do a 3/4 head of jack so even if you have to buy the piece, you'll get jack ears lol

In fact if you want the later pose, maybe it would be better to work with the 3/4 head and add the cheeks yourself.

When this is all done, do you plan on molding and casting in silicone? If so, I would love to see it cast in flesh silicone and then painted white just as if the make up were being applied to jack in 89 :)

Thanks for the link to the gloves. They look great.

Is your 89 display approximate to keatons size? What size was your mannequin mate?

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

I'll post the exact one. I tried to be as close to Keaton's height as possible. Same for Jack.

Unfortunately, as I've said somewhere else, the only thing I know how to mold is bread. So I wouldn't know the first thing about making a silicone bust unless I paid someone to do it. It's a shame, I'd love to know how.
