Life Size Keaton Batman 1989 AND now Nicholson Joker Last Page!

Re: Life Size Keaton Batman 1989

Just want to thank everyone for their comments, info and advice. Thanks SOP, DB, and Weequay for the help on Joker. Wanted to report in that I put in another 6 hours or so of work on him. Got my 3/4 Nicholson face and removed the ears. I also used it to measure the chin and neck proportions. He still has more to go. I need to add a bit more clay to the right ear, beef us his neck a tad, and then smooth/texture. I can't wait for the sculpting is done so I can start gluing a wig. I think it will really start to come alive with hair.

Here he is, sans cartoon chin:

Looking really good so far & the the hair, eyebrows & eyelashes will really bring it to life.

I would thin out Jack's lower left eyelid just a but more.

I think you are very talented...

The eyes look great and the smile too... And with the makeup, you will definitely get it !!!

Wow...

Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im not sure if the eyes could do with being a fraction wider open (and I mean a fraction!)

Like I said before this NEEDS to be cast in flesh silicone then have the white makeup applied!!

Amazing work mate. Cant wait to see these two together.

Got to do some texturing today. Still smoothing the head, but I'm not going to go crazy since the wig goes on top.

TGG, I thought you were supposed to be working on the house not sculpting all day :lol INCREDIBLE work my friend!! :):thumbsup

Ha. Thanks man. I think tonight I'm going fatten his face up a bit. I had forgotten how heavy Nicholson was during Batman.

Ok so this is nearing completion. Still have to address the eyes, I've been chickening out out of fear of ruining them.

I added about 6-10 pounds to Jack's face. I think I may paint him white so I get a better sense of where to smooth. I am using epoxy sculpt, so what you see is bone dry.

This experience has made me appreciate people like Johnny Xtcofpain, Rich, Howard, etc. I can't tell you what a pain it's been sculpting this and I even cheated by using a lifecast.

Another update. Still failing on the silicone front. I have been quoted prices that are beyond my budget unfortunately.

Here is Joker as he is now:

I still have to add the light grey eyeshadow.

As far as the brows, most of the Joker busts I have seen have green brows. But I have yet to see a picture where they weren't just greyish, basically his brows with no coloring and blended with the white paint on his face:

What do you guys think? Does anyone see some green in there?

Another big decision I have to make is how I am going to handle coloring the wig. It's clear they very simply used that green hairspray you can buy in the costume stores. But that is temporary. Should I paint the wig? Or simply spray it?

it is possible to dye synthetic wigs with a solution of INK and alcohol. (Sharpie, or "permanent" ink [artists inks found in art-stores])

I would avoid using a paint since it could potentially ruin the wig. Granted, with the hair-spray (which does work on synthetic), could be re-applied, but it does rub off something fierce on the clothing.

Personally I'd recommend getting a front lace wig, get it styled, and cut the lace to the proper hairline. (Then use any additional har to replicate the sideburns/temples/ etc...)
