Licensed Pulse Rifle pre-order

Wow, you are not going to believe this. So I see Delmustator is in North Carolina and received his pulse rifle with no shipping notice... just showed up. Well, I'm in Va, no shipping notice received either. So I decide to check my front porch and sure enough I find a pulse rifle. Cool, huh?

I'm logging off now. I have a box to open.

Lost in trek,
does your barrel slope down slightly as well. gotta love qc issues!

I'm in the process of selling an item that is going to help me pay for one of these...sometimes in this hobby (if you're not loaded) you need to make sacrifices to get other items to add to your collection.
I called HCG and asked about the availability of the standard PR. I was told they "have quite a few left" and they suspect they should have them available for another few weeks at the rate they are selling.
I'm just wondering how many fans were able to buy these??

From the pictures, it looks like the barrel is sloping down when it is on the wall mount. The rest of the time it looks okay, but again, that is going by pictures.

And before anyone blasts QC or HGC, how about waiting until we know for sure ALL of them are sloping down or just a few or non at all. Give HGC a chance to address it, if there is a problem, they have been VERY quick to fix things in the past, like they did with the Fifth Element Pistol that had trouble with the electronics. I have no doubt that if there is a problem, they will fix it in the end.

Well if the standard version only had 1000 copies and they have plenty. Good question..

If you look closely, the whole entire rifle is slopped. Look at the two mount hooks that grab the handle. You see how much weight is all being put on one side of the rifle?

Well we know the special edition is sold out (was that 250 pieces?) so we know there are at least that many fans willing to fork out that kind of cash for this item, and lets not forget about collectors who buy multiples (bless thier wealth!) to re-sell when the value rises.
I noticed you have a somewhat low number on your edition - I would like to see what other numbers people are getting. Its possible HCG may start losing steam on selling these simply because of the high cost.
A lot of collectors may settle for a resin kit or the airsoft kit - I may have too, but not only are they innacurate, with the HCG replica you're getting all-metal - which is pretty awesome.

Once I inspect mine I will be making a decision on either selling my Matsuo or selling the HCG. It all just depends on just how much the metal shrouds add to the coolness factor.

According to HGC's website, there are only a few remaining of the 1000 built of the Brown Bess model. Of course, this may just be a sales gimmick to try and get people sitting on the fence to pull the trigger and order it now.

You know, if you visit other collectibles forums (not prop forums) you'll find that a lot of collectors buy these things with the hopes of 'flipping' it at a higher than retail price.

So it doesn't necessarily mean that the 250 variants ended up in the hands of actual fans ...

UPS just dropped mine off, and I just tore right into the box like a kid at Christmas!! (Which I normally dont do with my props)..:lol
The wait for this one has been intense.. Years really....

Anyway.. I was worried about the "barrel droop" so it was the first thing I checked.. I put a tape measure up against the barrel and checked the Geometry against the shroud, and the rest for the rifle..

Mine is pretty much Dead on as far as I can tell..With the metal tape measure against it, it looks like it lines up well against the lines of the shroud and the lines from the Thompson sections.

Initial impresions.
I have owned a few versions of professionaly converted Airsoft rifles in the past..Each had their strengths and weaknesses... So I am probably, at a subconscious level, compairing this HCG rifle against those..

The overall feel of the HCG is great! Nice and heavy and SOLID. The Clip works awesome and just feels dead on against the movie when taking it in and out of the rifle. The Grenade launcher look & movemment exceeds my expectations as well. It makes a nice cocking/racking sound when you move it back and fourth.. Its fracking great! :thumbsup

The atttention to detail is where this rifle really shines.. Its perfect in the GL area, which the Airsoft conversions usually are a bit rough in.... (unless they are using a real spas cage and parts..)
The counter looks really nice.. The Shrouds are the best ever.. PERIOD. (For those wanting to remove them, you will be dealing with Rivets...

The trigger on the rifle is spring loaded and has a nice feel.. The trigger in the GL also moves, but is not spring loaded..
Everything is nicely finished.. No rough edges.. Near perfection....

Im gushing, but this baby deserves it!..:loveThis is a 10/10 in my book for this price point.

I will try to get some pics up in a bit.
Its just plain unbelieavable at this price point in my opinion..:love. Out of the box, this thing is awesome..

Thats what I'm seeing in the pictures too. If so, that is EASILY rectified by putting a small piece of foam / rubber-stopper / etc, on the top of the front mount "hook" to give the nose of the gun a little more lift.
