Licensed Pulse Rifle pre-order

Talked to the engraving place today. Got the specs for the font files, etc etc. Jumped into Adobe Illustrator CS3 and came up with these plaques. I plan to have them made on brushed aluminum plates.

If anyone is interested, I can have a few made. I don't have the cost yet. I just sent the files to the shop to be evaluated and priced.

Del, I'd just say USCM or Colonial Marines, I dont think they ever called themselves Space Marines.

Just cracked mine open... It was not easy, not for the squamish or easily confused...:wacko. The Thompson WILL perish in the process. With care the Grenade launcher can be salvaged.

The shrouds are in fact hollow die cast, but there are locating lugs protruding into the resin thompson that are epoxied in, breaking the shrouds off the thompson is a chore. The shrouds will need some milling done to fit onto an airsoft or a deact, they will fit but not without some work.

We should start a HCG Teardown/Rebuild thread.

Could have sworn Burke called them Colonial Space Marines in Ripley's quarters on the space station. No biggie, easy to modify.

I'm glad to hear that most of the Pulse Rifles delivered so far do NOT have a problem with drooping barrels. It might just be something loose on the ones that do. If it is bad enough, I would contact HGC and see about getting a replacement.

I registered just to reply, having just gotten my M41a replica :)

I don't see any 'droop' with the front of the weapon. If you look at the pics posted earlier, anything you could classify as droop was visible when the rifle was on the plaque, and it did not appear to be mounted properly (too far in one direction). The earlier pics (the first production model reveal from a few weeks back) had to have had lens distortion, because the rifle I have in hand now is perfect.

I don't think HCG would go through years of development on this only to have the final product come out with a sagging anything. :)

That said, if you do receive one with a sag/droop... definitely let HCG know.

Your plaques look great. Here is some additional info:

Although it is not official canon, the fictional company that makes the M41-A is called Armat. Additionally, if I am not mistaken, it is generally agreed upon that there is a dash between the 1 and the A.

Of course, these are your plaques so make them however you like :)

....Great. Does UPS ship on Saturdays?

#26 Ex for me.....

I'm afraid mine has the dreaded slope......Sigh....

The GL looks like it sits at a slight downward angle. Hoping I was seeing things, I even called my wife down to take a look, and she spotted it right away.

Matt,
Glad to hear you took this apart. Can you post some pictures?

I'm wanting to do the same but havent got any milling machinery, could this be done with dremels?

Any tips or help with this would be much appreciated.

Post those pics!

Definitely got some barrel droop on mine. I put both a 4 ft level and a laser line on it and it drops about half an inch from the breech to the barrel tip.

I sent an email to HCG customer service. Let's see how they handle the issue.

Just got mine in today. Am I the first to post pics of the OD version? :) Sorry they're not the best pics.

As you can see in the second pic, mine droops a little bit too. I didn't notice until I looked for it, but now that I see, it's kinda annoying. It's not horrible, (well, actually, it's pretty bad) but lets hope HCG makes some sort of announcement.

i dont see the drop , its all in your head

I can see what they are talking about. It's subtle, one of those things you have to be told about to notice.
I would suggest using a bubble level and take some pictures to illustrate it better.
Also, I really think the Brown version looks overall better. I just watched the movie this afternoon and in some scenes it does look Olive, but mostly I am seeing the brown look.

I will be watching with great interest how they respond to this issue, lack of funds prevented an order at the time but was thinking of revisiting soon.
Thats on hold now as there is a pronounced drop indeed and to me, the only way they can fix this is to have the item shipped back and repaired.
Living down under, the prospect of shipping and reshipping doesnt sit well.
Clearly seen in these comparison pics.
